Any updates for the red beast or same car as Australia?
Any updates for the red beast or same car as Australia?
I read somewhere that they will get back to the car used during winter tests & not bring the car used in Australia.
^ So what's the difference between those cars other than the front wing?
Pirelli predicts four stops in Malaysia
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/90437
we're number one
I'm starting to think that Pirelli is knowingly misleading the press into thinking that the degradation is going to be so high as to have as much as 4 pit-stops, only to later brag about how most of the teams made 2 pit-stops because of how little degradation they actually had. I mean, probably a tire manufacturer would prefer that their tires were known for their long durability than not.
But it's just my conspiranoic mind talking. My common sense says 3 stops will be most likely. That could be a good thing for us.
I find it odd that Ferrari has not spoke publicly regarding any updates that they would be bringing to Malaysia. Either they are coming with no new parts, or they are cooking up something that they want to keep a secret. I hope its the latter of the two, and that they have some new aero such as a "flexi" wing that will give our boys the chance to be on poll.
Although returning with the car from Barcelona testing seems like it would be a step forward as well.
~FORZA FERRARI~
I heard there are no scheduled major updates till Barcelona.
Hopefully the gap at Albert Park was a one off but Ferrari have to hit the nail on the head with the major update at Barcelona or we might have lost both Championships before mid season.
If they're really going to bring the car used in winter tests then there must have been something very wrong with the car in Australia.
yeah, i find that kind of weird too...usually they are stating weather or not they are bringing new stuff, although is still MONDAY, so maybe something will come from them in the next day or so...
but i TOO believe just like you said, that they are COOKING something and want NO ONE to know about it...
whatever it is they are doing/working on, hopefully puts ALONSO ON POLE!!!!
So the SF-24 has been a decent car. Lets hope that the totally redesigned from the ground up SF-25 contender will be a beast that will give us tifosi something to smile about.
It means Ferrari realised something horribly gone wrong after Winter tests, it can be set up, wings, brake balance, weight distribution, exhaust etc. They want to start from the point they believed their car was competetive after doing maximum milege. Nothing wrong IMO after just one race
If Ferrari need to wait until Barcelona to bring updates, they are in serious trouble. With all the resources and staff Ferrari have, we need to be much quicker. Just try something out and see if it improves the car, it worked for Mclaren.
With regards to the car in Australia, I think the major issue was the front wing. They need to revert to the old wing from testing or a whole new one all together.
~FORZA FERRARI~
I personally find the silence from Ferrari deafening. I'm really curious now what is going on behind the curtains, and to see how we will do in Malaysia. I also think the team is under enormous pressure now, another race like in Oz and there will be more Flavios...
i´m quitte sure that will be surprises this weekend...Domenicalle said that Ferrari would react immediately .So i predict something real new and positive will come.
Not trying to doom monger but heres the latest (that I've seen) coming out of Maranello. Someone's translation from print Gazzetta dello Sport over at AF:
".....Test in wind tunnel showed the same thing we knew, downforce not enough to allow exploit Pirelli in an appropiate way.
New suspension regulations were tested with not good results and as weight distribution is fixed by regulations we only can hope in the Malaysian hotter weather."
Seems ferrari are just gonna cross fingers and hope for the best in Malaysia if the article has any truth to it. I'm just hoping we come good in Malaysia. If the gap is anything like in Australia, we're probably in for a loooong season.
Keep the faith guys, but yeah i`m hoping for a strong showing come w/end.
It doesn't matter. Malaysia looks to be a washout, so anyone can win from anywhere. Lets Pray The reds are in the right place at the right time.
But, Ferrari wouldn't let Australia go by with out doing anything.
If you'll remember, Stefano said there would be no updates to the F10 after Singapore, instead hoping to fix reliability.
Then, in Japan they brought a new front wing, Korea a new reaer wing, and f-duct, and Brazil a new diffuser and brakes.

So, i guess Ferrari don't want to tell the entire world what they are planning, but i'm sure we will se something different when they arrive in Sepang.
In Stefano Domenicali, we have a team boss who has proved to be a leader. - Luca diMontezemelo
Well it seems that flexi wings are in and legal so i`ve no doubt we`ve got one come friday.
If we get a flexi wing working faultlessly and get a 1-2 in Malaysia, it would take little time for the FIA to declare it illegal.
Yes, it's been extremely quiet but hopefully there's something good cooking in Maranello. I saw Fernando confident after the race, didn't look too worried so that's a good sign. The flexi-wing is something we have got to get and fast, not just like McLaren's half flexi-wing or ours from last year but one that touches the floor like RB's; but we also need something else that would put us ahead of RB. At this time last year we had so many rumors of paper thin diffuser and B-spec car, I hope the Toyota wind tunnel helped out.
Well not much to say really, Ferrari know what they have to do..actions speak louder than words so no news is good news. I hope we have a good race to make me forget about the last one.
The rain out should be a good thing for Ferrari. This means Red Bull's downforce advantage is thrown out. We win a week of development time. Ducati got the same vs. Honda and Yamaha at the last MotoGP event. Hopefully we can get a win or podium too!
