Maybe it was part of the whole conservative Ferrari plan where consistency and reliability are more important that innovation, speed and poll positions.

Whatever it is, as I mentioned before, Ferrari cant wait for the FIA and stand still. We need to fit one on our car asap.
I have a feeling we will see Flexi wing in Malaysia, Ferrari kept it standby just to see FIA's stand on this issue.

    well that says

Ferrari need more work to load

ALESSANDRO STEFANINI The blow remedied in Australia has left its mark and Maranello is working to try to correct what went wrong. Unfortunately no good news: the comparative tests made on the simulator and in the wind tunnel are saying the same thing, namely that the downforce is insufficient and does not adequately exploit the Pirelli. As well as on 'aerodynamics have also explored new regulations for the suspension, but the results here are below expectations: d' the other hand, engineers have their hands tied on the weight distribution this year 's fixed by regulation. 'C' is a lot of work - Felipe Massa admitted Ferrari from the site - what he has done Vettel in qualifying was impressive. McLaren has taken a step forward, but the Red Bull is way ahead of everyone. Finally yesterday Davide Rigon's F60 shot with the 2009 Mugello.

According to PF1, Pat Fry says Ferrari will be bringing new aero updates to Malaysia; some previously planned and some developed as a response to the unexpected lack of performance in Aus.
