is there a better picture that shows the whole wing??
hope it does the flexi thing better the the bulls....
So the SF-24 has been a decent car. Lets hope that the totally redesigned from the ground up SF-25 contender will be a beast that will give us tifosi something to smile about.

Does anybody have the new and old ones?

And did Ferrari say anything about a front wing update so far?

Here, maybe they are bringing different front wings like Melbourne?

Pat Fry also said we will be testing different types of wing.

no worries. but I am surprised that there haven't been many pictures of the car. normally we would have more shots than these. and maybe that's why there is no picture thread yet.

Who said we are gonna have a new flexi wing?
That was just our hopes I think (and still is, but I'm afraid it's not possible)...

maybe they will, if we have a new wing I doubt they will be leaving out anyway to be photographed so easy.

Well, it doesn't flex in photos...
Either way, it's the same if the other teams see it now, or tomorrow morning in the move...
Front wings are the easiest parts to catch in a car...

They still would not make it so easy for others to see it, and it's not the same when they see it, lets say its a very special wing that gives loads of advantage, why would we let our rivals see it before we really needed too, we wouldn't

But maybe you are right and it makes no difference, we should invite our rivals round to inspect our car since its not a issue

Don't you think, that if front wing was something easy to hide, then they wouldn't cover it when they carry them on the pits?
The point is, if a camera captures your wind when the car runs on track, then that's it.
So, from today, until tomorrow is just a few hours. Nothing serious.
Nothing else to hide in there (flexibility is a matter of materials, either in wing, or cone, or I don't have a clue what Horner said today if it can stand)...

Regarding the advantage a wing can give you,
I was talking last year with a university student of aerodynamics and he told me, that especially the front wing,
is one of the most important parts in an F1 car, because it directs the air through the whole car, above and beneath, for both achieving the least drag with the most downforce.
And because every car is different from there on and needs different air flow, that is the main reason we see so different shapes and parts among the wings of different cars.
Otherwise, everyone would copy the shape of the wing of RB (just as example) and it would work in their car.
    But it just doesn't...

Anyway, we may be off topic now.

Let's hope Ferrari to prove me wrong and have a flexi wing so fast...

Its the same wing as Australia and in testing so off course no point hiding it now, we shall see tomorrow if they run a new wing that has not been left out in the paddock for photos And yes hours do matter if they have something unique (not saying we do) the longer they kept it away from view the less time rivals have to copy it.

Yes there is still front wing copying, if we have a new wing then it will not be left sitting out in the paddock today, first it will be seen is on the car as has been the case countless times in the past but nevermind

Greig, I think it's a useless conversation, because I could also say, why Ferrari had two wings carried on the pits in Australia, when they all can see it?

I admit though, that if you have something revolutionary (like McLaren's 2007 upper part, or BMW's seal style), then you have to cover it as much as you can.
Especially if this "revolution" could work for other teams too (way too rare).
It's a fact though, that different cars have different needs of airflow and that's why, Red Bull has different wing from us, or McLaren, or Renault etc...
    It just can't work.
Regarding the time, if they see it Thursday, or Friday, noone will have it on Sunday for sure.
And if they really wanted to copy something, Friday is good day to see it and prepare it in the next 12-13 days until the shipment of the next GP.
Anyway, it's endless I think so I move on.

Oh yeah. and the first wing that luicci showed looks a little different when you look closely at the paintjob at the endplate. looks like tiny changes. anyways, hope they do the job.

Don't expect to understand if it is better than the other...
Just hope to be a flexi one...
Those tiny changes are common from track to track usually and is included to what Alonso described as nothing special.
    Unless it flexes.............
    Then it's something

Let's be serious. No way Ferrari will say they've got a flexi wing. Never.

I never said they will say it.
I hope they will show it on track, if possible from tomorrow, even if it's such a short time...

Ok, I think someone said something like that in another thread and maybe I was misleading by a similar avatar.

I doubt too this new wing is flexing like Red Bull's but it might happen, we'll only know once it's on the car at medium/high speed.

I just hope it solves the lack of frontward downforce.

Neither of the wings shown in this thread were raced in Australia. The opening post wing is the one that most closely resembles the wing that was run in Australia.

The wing that was used in Australia was the new wing tested during the winter.
