sandbagging??na......... i believe in sandbagging a ittle ,but not that much!! Even if i see horner saying "I don’t think Ferrari have shown their full hand yet, so very difficult to draw too many conclusions, but in terms of our own performance it has been a productive Friday. " ...but even faraway from them!!!
Anyway,
I just read ALL Ferrari engined cars will use a new engine for this race.
McLaren also...
i wonder why Alonso stays ...Positive... 44 minutes ago...
Fernando Alonso was in a positive mood in Malaysia today despite modest positions in both practice sessions.
Alonso was ninth in both sessions, and was 1.7s off the frontrunning pace in the afternoon. Teammate Felipe Massa was sixth in both sessions. However, the Spaniard expects to make progress tomorrow.
“We struggled a little bit with the balance of the car,” said Alonso. “We tried to do some setup changes, some aero work as well in the morning. We tried to do our program. Obviously we know that we need to keep working tonight, to keep changing what we can improve in the car, and be more competitive tomorrow.
“I think the race weekend is very interesting, what we have in front of us. A very interesting qualifying tomorrow then a difficult race for everybody here, with pit stops, with tire degradation that seems to be higher here than Melbourne, with the weather conditions we can face on Sunday, so still many things to answer this weekend. We are trying to get ready for all of them.”
Alonso says he’s not worried about Ferrari not being a challenger for victory at the first race, after looking so good in testing.
“I think McLaren did a very good step in Melbourne with the car, and Red Bull was just testing in the winter and was not making the full potential," he said. "I think we arrive in our 100 percent in Australia with a very good winter, but obviously maybe we were not quick enough compared with our main rivals.
“That was only a first race; the championship is long. It seems also last year in some races McLaren and Red Bull were fighting, some other races Ferrari and Red Bull were fighting, some others only Red Bull was in front of everybody. I think this can change circuit by circuit, and hopefully we can have a better weekend here than Melbourne, and better in the future as well.”
Like other drivers, the former World Champion expects the DRS to be more effective here: “I think this should be one of the places where it should work better. On the main straight there’s enough space to maximize the potential of the top speed. If the race is dry and we can use, I think we can have more overtaking maneuvers than in the past, and hopefully a better show for everybody.”
I know well Alonso and his temper, and I know that when things are not going to welcome him, he nonsense with everything and everyone ... but he keeps quiet, very quiet ... interesting.
I predict we opt to stay out of q3 so we can have a better tire strategy.
however it might be that we just wont get into p3 even if we tried at the way we're going..
What kind of idiots run the show at Ferrari anymore.. going from being very optimistic for the season after testing to this.. are the tracks in Europe that different? What were we testing all winter long...what a terrible showing from Ferrari and its only Friday practice...
God I hope I am wrong but its not pretty at all..
we're number one
If they keep going the direction they are, it will be another 21 year stretch... It's not the boots on the ground causing the problem.... It's time for new blood at the top.. I know I am saying some friends of mine need to move on to greener pastures, but if it doesn't win on Sunday, it won't be selling on Monday either... The engine and power train is steady as a rock, the car's aero needs help and I am not impressed with Pat Fry, perhaps McLaren dumped him for good reason, it sure seems that way. To my friends on the team, I am sorry you have to live with this, I understand it is beyond your control, and I support you as always..

I know this isn't ideal, but we're getting worked up over practice. now, i agree with most of you. After testing, Ferrari really should have been better, and they have been very disappointing so far. But we've seen them come back from worse.
One things 'for sure', every engineer will be working all night long trying to find solutions. i'm afraid they've got to treat FP3 as a test session for different things. who knows, maybe they strike gold?
But I will only think of having Stefano's head or anyone else for that matter when i see them in the race. but i'm sure we'll get out of this. but not when. at least now we will be expecting 6th downwards, if we get 2nd or even 1st row, it will be a pleasant surprise. Think of it that way.
EDIT: Oh, and if we win on Sunday, it will be the most epic win since maybe ever.a close second to italy 1988 maybe?

In Stefano Domenicali, we have a team boss who has proved to be a leader. - Luca diMontezemelo
Last 3 years with Stefano's direction we were able to fight for title biennially.2008 best car with constractions championship then 2009 a disaster,2010 second car all season, competitive, has a potential, lost drivers championship last race. Now we are in 2011 is it another bad year awaiting for us??I hope i am wrong.i will stay optimistic 1-2 races![]()
Such is the nature of F1..sometimes we are on top, sometimes not..I must say that it looks as though Ferrari are working towards finding a solution.
I am surprised that the car looks so bad, but Im not driving it, nor am I an engineer, so we can only hope that Ferrari finds the solutions we are
looking for. Im sure they are working full steam especially after such high expectations after the tests.
Im not sure why Ferrari has always been so hellbent on kers. I dont think it has a place in F1, but thats my opinion. I do think it funny that there is such a
huge gap to the top, with mac seeming to have figured something out. They look the strongest at this point.
Its disappointed that our cars are practically not competitive at all
Given what we have demonstrated in Aus and in Malaysia so far (P1+2) Im afraid that the titles are pretty far away![]()
2008 he was still reaping what the Todt and co have sown. I really wouldn't count 2008 because he had everything working right for him. 09 and 10 are his years and so far it really doesn't look too promising. I honestly think we wont win a championship with him at the helm but then again I'm willing to eat my words but sadly I don't see that happening in the foreseeable future.
"Always move forward, take it one step at a time, eventually you'll reach your goal and if you happen to fall on face your still moving..."
Maybe it's about time Ferrari brought that McLaren "Funny Nose" for test tomorrow. That funny nose seem to have taught mclaren a thing or 2 about flexing.
On a Friday Ferrari tend to work on set-up for the race. Since there has been a ban on testing throughout the season we have not been near the top of the time sheets on a Friday-----at least not very often. Unlike some of the others we tend to refrain from glory runs.
There are no points to be gained on a Friday.
Maybe it's worth waiting to see what is in store for us during quali and the race-----Sunday is the day to collect the points.![]()

has pat fry got any say in the developments? he managed to turn that dog of a mcmower around in 2009
How can you guys write off the race or season already? The car is only around 2 seconds behind the RBR per lap in practice sessions.
what about Pat Fry? I was hoping he would make a difference at Ferrari.
Ferrari's last 'dry spell' only lasted 2 years, 2005 and 2006. But in 2006 the car was very competitive, close to the Renault.
3 yrs without a championship? last time that happened was you know when..
