How will we do in China?

Seems that its a track that will maybe be more kind to us in terms of mostly straights and slow corners?

    What do we think?

Any idea what tyres will be used?

Well I think the cooler temperatures in China should work in our favour. A podium is very possible. It's hard to judge how many stops/which tires without seeing the teams on track at least once. There was a pretty big difference in tire degradation between Australia and Malaysia, despite the difference in weather. So I guess it all comes down to how the tires are going to behave, and whether a trend is going to build or if we're going to see a different performance at every track.

Let's hope Mark puts some pressure on Vettel too.

I think we might fight for a podium again, if Red Bull make a mistake or have some problems then maybe a win is possible but we still will have a very strong McLaren there. On a dry track it won't change too much unless those new parts work perfect for us.

Good thing is we just have to wait a few days.

Considering a podium was very well possible in Malaysia (but sadly did not work out) , it must also be possible in China.
And when maybe an RB or two run into some trouble, the situation can change very fast

Podium? i'm hoping for win. Mac and us will be even closer i'd imagine and RB's Kers inefficiencies will be further tested.

I dont think Vettel will win this time round.

A performance similar to Malaysia, I think--but we may be competitive earlier on if people have trouble getting tyre temperatures up. The Pirelli site says they will bring the hard and soft compounds.

I think we could fight for a podium again, if Bulls and Mc have some troubles. Local weather forecast says that there is possibility of rain on Saturday.

PS i will be at the main stand and cheer for Ferrari! ^ ^

Doesn't matter. All the work done by the engineers and drivers to make the car faster will be undone by our 6 second pit stops.

Qualifying is my concern. As for race pace i am much more positive, overall I think the car is good it just needs time to evolve.

I feel much more optimistic after Malaysia. Ok, we are way behind in Q, but we seem to have the edge in the race at least to be with the McLarens.

My only worry is that the "launch system" in the Bulls seem pretty good, and so does in the Renaults. That mean´s that vettel can get away easily and we can get backstabbed by the renaults again.

I would like to see vettel loosing P1 at the start, and our boys getting a nice start between 2º and 4º more or less. Right now we have to avoid vettel getting more advantage and having easy races preserving engine.

In China, Ferrari will get 1st Podium of this season. Circuit will suit RB less than what we saw in Sepang & Albert Park & race pace of F150 looks promising.

Apparently RedBull wont be using KERS in China. Are they Mad? that back straight is one of the longest on the calendar.

They'll be eaten up by us and McLaren if that is true. Seb you wont be winning next week.

I feel we definitely are in with a chance at the podium. With a little bit (actually we need RB to self destruct) of luck.. we can win.
We will surely be kinder to our tyres as compared to Macca.. not so sure about RB. But it will be a good race.
I think Macca (especially lewser) will destroy his tyres there. Button will up him once again.

one thing's for sure: it will be very competitive cause there are 4 teams that can realistically aim for the podium.
I hope Ferrari can finally use the car's full potential this time, with good qualifying, better pitstops and no technical failures.

ha,ha....we wont' be seeing FINGER boy go ecstatic this time.....
i wish/hope we make it on the podium with the updates for china (although NOT huge ones but hopefully they work) and to either P2, or should i dare say go FOR THE WIN!!!
So the SF-24 has been a decent car. Lets hope that the totally redesigned from the ground up SF-25 contender will be a beast that will give us tifosi something to smile about.

Quit dreaming, imagine Kubica in the Renault, and try to understand that in order to get to Red Bull, you need to get thru Renault and Mclaren

We may hope for much, its not against the law, but I am looking forward to a good race.
We are not playing at the top anymore simply because we do not know how, and three other teams are constantly doing it way better then ourselves.
They develop better cars, they interpret the rules better, they have better pitsops, and when they are making drinks&giving away points to others, they do have the sporting decency to do it amongst themselves.

And they dont loose time wishing away other F1 teams into GP2 series.

The lack of performance on the knife edge, where its needed the most in F1 racing, is only a realistic consequence of lasting complacency, under a giant red rug swept so many a thing, that there aint no place anymore not even for a straight face after the last rug lifting (I know, I know we do even that as a team, smiling and cheering..).
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition

I am optimistic for China, we have good race pace...if we manage a good grid position and a clean start, then with some luck a podium would be within our reach...even a win if someone could put some brakes on Vettel

I am going with a possible win as with both the drs and Kers working we can make mince meat out of the Red Bulls and probably match the Mccheaters. Can't wait to see a first podium/ win.

There are fewer high speed corners where downforce is key, so that's a positive. The downside is that it won't be as hot, so getting the tyres up to temperature may prove a problem again.

Hopefully we can get ourselves into a good position in turn 1 this time, rather than end up going backwards. Malaysia would have been an easy P2 for Alonso had he not been slow away (and had poor stops......and hit Lewis).

The upgrades should make a difference, but then everyone will bring updates so they will probably balance themselves out a bit.

It'd be nice to get on the front row in qualifying to have a shot at a decent race result.

5th. place top. Let's be honest if RB and McL don't have any problem then we only run for a 5th place fighting with Renault. Sad but true

It seems McLaren will have more updates than us...
Also cooler temperatures is not good for us and I suppose this track will suit very well Renault-Mercedes-Sauber too...

Hope for something better than 5th...

I'm not so scared of the cooler temps during the race, it's Q where they scare me a little.

But, we have improved dramatically over the first two races. A real positive is that we are definitely better on our tyres than RB and Macca. I'd settle for a small improvement in the race trim and biggest gains in Q. If we can get on the second row we can win.

This year is wide open, RB are not great at developing their car and we are. We are yet to bring our flexi-front wing which will take a chunk out of their lead on us. We need to keep our eyes on McLaren as well as they may well leap-frog RB also.

It depends, if Ferrari take notes on what has been discussed around here lately and fire everyone, the cooks will have to work as mechanics, the guy that cleans the motorhome will make the race strategy and the first two chinese they find when they arrive at the airport will have to do their best at driving those cars. I don't expect a great result, although if Dietrich Mateschitz wants to save a few million his cars may still somehow get a podium or so if he applies the same measures.

I think we have the 4th fastest car, RB-McL-Lot-Ferr, but the drivers will make the difference and Alonso could get 3rd-5th and Massa 4th-7th in qualifying; in race pace the F150º is up there with the best so they could get a few positions; Alonso may get the podium and if Hamilton manages to keep Vettel behind he may yet catch up and we may celebrate something more. I doubt Massa will get on the podium on pure race pace, but maybe 4th-6th could be a good result to stay in the fight for the WDC until the car gets better. That's if nobody DNFs, there are no safety cars, etc.
