It is now official that Lewis Hamilton is at the top of the list for most Grands Prix contested with only a single team. The Malaysian Grand Prix was the Englishman’s 73rd since entering Formula 1 with McLaren in 2007, surpassing former double Champion Jim Clark’s previous figure of 72 races with Colin Chapman’s Team Lotus.

“It makes me feel very humble – I never saw Jim Clark race, but I know that he’ll always be remembered as one of the greats and as a loyal Lotus driver,” Hamilton commented. “Loyalty’s extremely important and I’m proud to be mentioned in the same breath as him.

“It only gives me even more determination to bounce back stronger than ever.”

Yea, I read this article last week. A pretty pointless record and I don't think it shows particular loyalty really. Who would leave a team that provide a good car? You wouldn't see someone starting in F1 in a HRT and stopping there for 5 seasons because it's rubbish.

He's only got that stat because he lucked in to a top team to start off with and didn't have to work for his success like most of the other drivers. Well he can keep that stat and let Michael have the 91 wins and 7 drivers titles (so far)

Not sure it can be called luck, he done the hard work to get to F1 same as the rest he is there on merit IMO, Merc paid for MS to get his first drive and then he was lucky to get out of his contact to jump to the next best team I guess

Don't think Lewis will be leaving McLaren any time soon. Uncle Ron has promised him a Mclaren GTR from the company's collection if he wins 3 WDC, obviously with McLaren. Don't know how much that car will impact his decision making in moving to a different team, if he ever decides to, but I prefer him at McLaren.

Daddy puts him straight into the fastest car for 2 years in a row. When Hamilton has superior competition (2007), Uncle Ron eliminates the threat.
