    Fon de Portago

This might sound unknown to most, but Fernando Alonso was not the first Spaniard to drive for Ferrari. No, the first one was Fon de Portago, whose amazing life is recreated in a documentary shown in three parts in Youtube. Unfortunately, the documentay is in Spanish, but most of the testimonials are in English so that you can have a flavour at the man. Perhaps it would be helpful to read Wikipedia's article about him first: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfonso_de_Portago

    Enjoy!

Probably off- topic in here but i saw the video and Portago looks like a really cool guy to me- and what a tragic end.

The way they made interviews those days- dark room, the driver smoking, faces mostly not even recognizable- like an interview with the Mafia!

    Very talented young driver indeed!

Just have to correct your signature... de Portago was driving a 335 S (S/N 0646) when he was killed and not a D50

I appreciate your effort here, but wikipedia is no place to learn your history.

    A much better source.
