    points for pole position

I do not know if this topic has ever surfaced i would like to see the driver who lands pole position allocated points say 5 in addition to his other scoring points should he do so with all the drama associated with qualification and the importance of pole how many times has that mighty effort been rewarded with nothing in other words thanks for coming but no cigar. it could even be expanded to involve positions 123 just an idea

A no from me too, I think the benefits of being on pole is enough incentive for a driver. I also wonder if some of the smaller teams that have no hope getting points in the race, might just set their car up for 1 lap wonders and bag a few points, but then have a rubbish car for the race.

I don't see why not. It might spice things up a little. I think they should award a couple points for fastest lap, as was the case once upon a time.

Well, if it continues to be a trend where driver only do one attempt in Q3 to save tires, this might actually get them to do more attempts in Q3 and have more action on track

If it were this year we'd be further behind Vettel...

Unless the P1 qualy TEAM get the points for the WCC then I cant see the teams getting enthusiastic about the idea. Thats where the prize money is at the end of the year.

    Sorry

If that be the case, you should give off points to best strategy, best tyre wear, best team outfit etc., Doesnt make sense. Being on pole should be incentive enough.

However, if things do need to be spiced up.. they should give money to the pole sitter, fastest lap, most overtakes etc., Might spur some of the smaller teams to take that extra risk and do something radical to get pole etc.,

Yeah, I vote for deducting points for unacceptably looking overalls.

No. Qualify gets you a good position to start, that should be more than enough.

I would allow it only for the constructors' championship but maybe that would make things more complicated than they should be.
