Even having his name in the same sentence as the big ones (especially Senna and Schumacher) is an overstatement.

I do appreciate that drivers need time to focus on their prep work before a race; but, there are
a lot of professions where that same kind of commitment is necessary. In the two-week schedule
posted earlier, he had four days off in a two-week period. He seemed to be making appearances
at art galleries, FOTA's fan forum, jet skiing! I'm sure only a few, if any of these activities, entail
an entire eight hour shift and most seem to be social commitments where he gets to rub elbows,
    chat, smile and take pictures!!
It really doesn't sound like he's performing surgery or flying off into outer space between races!! :angel

You make a really good point, here!! Ironically, the anonymity is a double-edged sword!
People who are legitimately shy or nervous in front of others can feel comfortable; but,
there will always be those who would abuse this kind of opportunity to vent their venom!!
    Who needs the negativity??

Poor Lewis his team mate is out performing him.
He is no longer the golden boy of F1.
Uncle Ron is not always there with a shoulder to cry on
And he is always up before the stewards.
And then there is the media
I do find it a little amusing that after Hamilton’s first season, which was great, almost all of his supporters were saying: "just wait until he matures he will be so much better."
Here it is almost 5 years later, and even counting the year he won the WDC he still hasn't matched his performance of his rookie year IMO. (Which isn’t saying that he is not still one of the best?)

5 years, eh? Well, I guess he's like a fine wine?
That is, it will take years and years before he's actually matured?
