Alonso"extremely happy with today's result,Ferrari could be even stronger in Hungary

    http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/240720...d-weekend.html

"I am extremely happy with today's result," said Alonso. "We had a weekend that probably was not the easiest one. We struggled a bit on Friday, in qualifying we were fourth, half a second from pole so no doubts that we struggled a bit more with the weekend.

"But even with the difficulties we are second and fighting for victory, so this is a fantastic achievement. Second in Valencia, first at Silverstone and second here.

"With three different rules, three different maps, we were constantly first and second on three different circuit and with different temperatures, so with all these conditions we saw consistency that put us in a good position to enjoy this final part of the championship."

Alonso believes Ferrari could be even stronger in the Hungarian Grand Prix next weekend thanks to the higher temperatures and the softer tyres.

"I am looking forward to a bit more temperature on the track. The soft and super soft tyre should be an advantage for us in terms of how we take on the tyres. In a week we will have a very interesting weekend again," he said.
I am a lot happier than I was four races ago, I believe Silverstone was a watershed moment for Ferrari.
The car was capable of winning today. Forza Ferrari

I have a bittersweat taste, for some reason I was dreaming of a victory despite our problems with the cold temperature, but I think it was a great team result, the only negative thing was the pit stop.

nothing to complain about this weekend, too bad about Massa. don't think we can blame him for losing 4th place in the end.

Yes, I kind of agree with you, it was a little disappointing that we didn't win, especially when we were so close to it - if only Alonso had a better exit out of Turn 1 and closed the door on Hamilton after the second stop we might have won.

However, we must remember that the conditions were far from ideal for us this weekend, and to me at least, that bodes extremely well for the upcoming races. Ok so we are highly unlikely to win the WDC, but with we can still win quite a few of the remaining ones and I reckon we can beat McLaren in the WCC. I say let Hambo and McLaren have this one - I don't think they will be taking too many more 1st place trophy's this season!!!

Very good result for Ferrari today! Alonso know the Chanpionship is all about numbers. If he can win or come in second in the remaining races, he has a shot at the title. As far as Ferrari goes, the same is try of the Constructor's Championship. Massa today finished ahead of Button but still finished behind both Red Bull cars. That is a problem as that means we lost ground to Red Bull today. Massa is still far behind Alonso and that will hurt the team's chance for the charge to beat Red Bull and McLaren. Time will tell.

    Ciao.

actually, in silverstone, Ferrari got 35 points, RedBull 33, and McLaren 12.

and in Germany, Ferrari got 28 points, RedBull 27, and McLaren 25.

    this is WCC.

Point well taken but in order to secure the Championships, Ferrari must finish better as a team. Massa must win closer to Alonso. Look at Red Bull, they finish very close to each other at EVERY race. McLaren have done the same for most of the year. Massa must improve his game more and be closer to Alonso at every race if the Ferrari team is to make any major inroad in the Constructor's Championship.

    Ciao.

    Forza Ferrari!!!!

Yes we should be very happy with what Fernando delivered yesterday. Even if Alonso came out and stayed ahead of Hamilton we would loose the lead anyway given to us unable to close the gap and a fairly slow 3rd pitstop.

It was a great race for the team. Yes, as steelstallions pointed out, we had the pace to win today. If only it had been warmer, that may have happened.
With the warmer temperatures and softer tyres in Hungary, lewis is screwed, but i think we might do well. very well.
Vettel is likely to be back on top of webber, but they are going to have their hands full in tackling Ferrari.

The 2011 season has started now!!!
