    Ferrari boss hails extraordinary Alonso

Sep.15 (PVM) Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has again praised Fernando Alonso despite it looking almost certain that Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel is on the verge of claiming his second Formula 1 world title in as many years.
Di Montezemolo said in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, “Fernando Alonso is an extraordinary driver on track and very good off the track too. He manages to drag the team forward with his conviction and commitment.
The Ferrari boss also dished out praise to team principal Stefano Domenicali, saying, “He has become a true leader. They said we needed someone like (Ross) Brawn, but look how hard it is also proving for him with Mercedes.”

Something Kimi didn't and Nando is realy driving the wheels of the Ferrari, even overdriving the damm thing, and it shows that even the car is not fast enough he is still the 2e driver in the championship

Kimi really did well with the F60, though. lets give him some credit.

but yeah, i agree that noone is better than Nando.

    No he never really

only when he realised he needed a new team did any sort of performance arrive.

in my opinion, 2009 was a great 2nd half of the year for him, almost making us 3rd with a much slower car than McLaren.

but lets just agree to disagree.

As I said, when he realised he needed a new team, till then he was a waste of space, so no credit from me as he performed for himself not the team

Yes he did. Second half of 2009. I don't care why, He drove the nuts of that car.

But that's how some people are really. Prefer to just not see the facts.

and that Alonso has not? seems a bit silly really to use that as a negative against one of our drivers

no, I was disappointed last year when Alonso missed out on the title. But Alonso himself said that in 2007 McLaren had the best car, which means that according to him Kimi won WDC with the second best car, not bad for a driver who supposedly is way inferior to Alonso.

Yeah McLaren and their fighting did hand Kimi the title I do agree with that Red Bull nearly done the same for Alonso last year

F2007 was a great car, Alonso really would not know as he never drove it

How comes that everytime someone from Ferrari compliments Fernando, some Kimibot shows up and starts a rant?

In 2007 McLaren had the best car but the worst team management. And a title is won by the best combination of both. And sometimes, some luck.

and a third fact : both mentioned above facts have nothing to do with Ferrari being happy with Fernando.

Really Kimi was great, but he is gone now, let's not debate him as he is not really worth the effort, this is about Alonso and how Ferrari are very happy with him

Felipe costs much lesser and drives his heart for Ferrari, still some people are not satisfied with his performance, then what would be reaction if Kimi got owned by Fernando? My opinion of course.
Meanwhile, it either says something or just nothing that Alonso, Schumacher and Raikkonen have reputedly spared a F1 podium on five occasions and Fernando has stood on the top step on every occasion. He's F1's first among equals. (PG)

Kimi was too good.... :P He was such a quick driver, him and Nando fighting it out in the F10... They'd be equally matched.....

(We are having a similar argument on the other thread aren't we M.K :P)

Massa beat Kimi, so I doubt he would be matching Alonso in the slightest, good thing is we will never know, and we moved on from Kimi

Alonso would dominate the team even more if he was with Kimi, at least Massa tries

Yeah well Kimi looked like he got bored after winning in 2007 but him and Alonso would have been dream team....!!

I like Massa I just don't think he's capable of even getting onto the podium at the moment.. I'd like Perez on the Ferrari next year... or Rosberg!

I would use word discussion, anyway too much Kimi for one night

I hope you understand that there maybe are 3 drivers in F1 who would get that car on podium...Felipe drives as good as he can and I see progress in every race. I believe that when our car will be in front, so will be Felipe.

Yeah sorry :P I did think argument was the wrong word!

    No way, Raikkonen rules!

I still think Alonso and Raikkonen would have worked...
