Fantastic drive by Alonso today, a P2 finish. Another podium, and a better spot too. Certainly driver of the day, how he managed to take advantage of staying out a little longer than Vettel and jump Vettel.

Best result yet since we won at Silverstone, but results aside, I think its worth mentioning that:
We beat the red bulls on a straight fight, no any mechanical issue, pit mistake or accidents for them.
We are not that far behind McLaren
We managed to stay competitive even on the harder silver tires.

    On to 2012.

BTW, about Massa's incident, I certainly think Lewis defended too hard (surprise surprise). Massa was just holding his spot at the edge of the track, and Lewis moved in on Massa, with Massa no where to go, they touched again. I don't know what he expected Massa to do, just disappear or stop to make way for him?

Fernando truly is a fantastic driver. What a shame we couldn't give him a race wining car this year.

Brundle always gives Alonso plenty of credit but EJ, DC and Jake can never bring themselves to say a good word about him or Ferrari. They love Red Bull and their spontaneous parties too much, and off course when a Mclaren wins it's never because they had the best car. It was quite obvious all weekend that the Mclaren was the car to beat.

Great race, Alonso drove superb as did Button.
Still disappointed Felipe wasn't up there at the end. Wonder why he just can't seem to do that.
Seb did what he had to do so congrats, but he was really beaten today by Button and Fernando. That was a great feeling.
Hamilton....what to say about him? I just sigh when I see him doing again what he always does...
Webber was invisible although he was there - but he never was a threat to anyone today.
But I enjoyed it all, simply because Ferrari showed the speed was there.

He always was a fantastic driver, but Ferrari still seems to take him to a higher level - both as a driver and as a sportsman.
It's just the ideal combination even without a winning car.

Brundle was also defending Massa on twitter earlier this week:

Felipe's a super nice man,one of the best. I don't see malice but did see him hugging Anthony Hamilton later +Anthony loves his boy for sure

@R7COO That's rubbish. Massa has dominated some races in which his team mates were the likes of Schumacher,Raikkonen and Alonso.

I am ashamed that till this day I didn't know Jessica is actually Japanese
Meanwhile, it either says something or just nothing that Alonso, Schumacher and Raikkonen have reputedly spared a F1 podium on five occasions and Fernando has stood on the top step on every occasion. He's F1's first among equals. (PG)

What bothers me is why the medium tyres start working for us now when the WDC and WCC are already done deals?

Yeah, they worked in track where everybody is cooking them up.

if only there was one more lap in the race

but what a brilliant drive, and the top 3 drivers in the sport on the podiums was pretty good.

Congrats to both Sebastian and Jenson.

Fantastic drive by Alonso today, a P2 finish. Brilliant drive, IMO if there had been a couple of more laps I think he would have even WON!!!

Yea, but for the last 15 or so laps he was stuck less than 1 sec behind schumi and couldn't get passed him
