"Ferrari has decided to put into production the new floor + diffuser + pieces adapted to make it available in the last test. The evolution of the first floor does not come into production. In Maranello considered a waste of time and resources to continue. Ferrari staff believes McLaren will also be very strong, so you have to be competitive from the first race"
"The new floor is much better, so they do not want to waste time with the original. Gain performance"
"Byrne is already working on the development of the new floor could be included in the first major change"
So will the new floor be ready before the first grand prix?
According to these rumours it will be finished sooner than that. Thatswhy they've decided to skip over phase 1 and jump to phase 2. It is believed that they will start at Jerez with first version of floor and that the new floor will be ready for 3. and 4. day of Jerez test so they have enough time to test it in order to introduce it already in first race (if floor proves to be good of course)
I hope the car also improves in slow speed corners.

a shame, but rather that than F63 or F151.Ferrari drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa were in Maranello on Wednesday to see the 2012 car for the first time. The two drivers also took the opportunity to complete their seat fittings ahead of the Fiorano launch next Friday, 3 February.
While at the factory, both men were greeted by Team Principal Stefano Domenicali and updated by engineers on the latest technical information. This years car is expected to be named F12.
Alonso, Massa, Davide Rigon and reserve driver Jules Bianchi now travel to a training camp on the Canary Isles to finish off their pre-season fitness regime.

seems Ferrari have not learnt their lesson when it comes to copyright. Ford were harmless, but when you're stealing US Air Force Royalties?

In 2014 they've gotta find some sorta annviersary to change the car name only for that year.![]()

So the SF-24 has been a decent car. Lets hope that the totally redesigned from the ground up SF-25 contender will be a beast that will give us tifosi something to smile about.
I liked when cars were named upon years in which they compete (F2001, F2002,...). I like that name method. I don't see why Ferrari, as majority of teams, does not stick to one name as McLaren (MP4/x), Williams (FWxx), Sauber (Cxx),... and others are doing?

Maybe we'll hear from them soon![]()
I think they should go for the F2012 etc etc. No surprises. If they wanna pay tribute to something, the should just add to the name, like F2003-GA
Last years car shuold have been F2011-Italia or something like that...
So you donīt prefer F2012 then?
Some more updates from Jose Luis's twitter today
Ferrari has decided to put into production the new Floor + Diffuser + other integrated/modified pieces so that it is available in the last test
The evolution of the first Floor did not reach full production. In Maranello they consider it a waste of time and resources to continue with the first design.
Ferrari staff believe that McLaren will also be very strong, so Ferrari must be competitive in first race
The new Floor is much better, so much that you no longer want to waste time with the original. The new floor+diffuser+pieces earn more benefits
Byrne is already working on the evolution of the new Floor which could be included in the first large upgrade package
Nothing here new just some usual development work. We don't know if the evolution of new floor will hit the track before first race or they are planning to have a big update. We'll see. I know Fry said they will try to bring new pieces at every race and this is important.
All this infos from Jose Luis sound reasonable but I'm still wondering who this inside source could be. It has to be someone who has the view over production and design.
F12 is very cool.
Try hitting your F12 key down while holding down the E,V,L,X,and D keys.
Wooooohoooooooo
