Other teams may be fast, but the poetry, the romance, of F1 Racing belongs to Ferrari
I'm so proud to drive for this team." - Felipe Massa Brazil '08
I've always believed that you should never, ever give up and you should always keep fighting even when there's only a slightest chance - Michael Schumacher

oo-er!!
I much prefer RB's design:
Whatever the design, the main focus should be on making sure the driver can exit the car fast, even if the cockpit suffers great damage. The design you showed us there is a deathtrap in case of a fire, and it doesn't help f1 cars catch fire very fast.
Thats amazing but would that pass the rules and regs?
Its interesting they choose to put Kubica on the driver's sticker...
Don't know about the cockpit but that rear wing looks sexy
Apart from the cockpit, the car looks awesome![]()
Interesting concept..I really like it..the RB is interesting but its not open wheel, so off to Lemans me lad.
Ferrari is on BBS rims not on OZ
Of course not at the moment. But its a possibility that FIA is studying. Its nothing new that open cockpit is dangerous and there's a constant hunt for a good solution to them. FIA recently did a test by shooting a wheel onto a military aircraft canopy to see what happens.
Here's some news relating to the fatal Indy accident.
http://edition.cnn.com/2011/10/19/sp...tml?hpt=isp_c2"I think it could work," Mosley told CNN. "We get occasional incidents like the spring which hit Massa and the wheel which came off in Formula Two and killed John Surtees son Henry.
"You're always in danger, in an open cockpit, of objects striking the driver ... It might also help, if it's reinforced with another roll bar, in things like the Dan Wheldon accident. But that's something that needs careful investigation."
On the canopy test, Mosley said it was an example of the FIA's continued commitment to improving driver safety.
"It's an example of constantly trying to find things that will reduce the probability of an accident, or an injury rather. Accidents are always going to happen; it's the injuries we want to avoid."
That's the ultimate F1 car idea from Adrian Newey in a hypothetical situation where there's no rules to limit. If I'm not mistaken, enclosed wheel is always better than open wheel.
