Both correct, well done and underdog even got the year and model to boot.

If I'm not mistaken, I think Michele was the last Italian to drive a Ferrari to an F1 win?

    4 days to go ......

Absolutely love this picture, and its one of my fave drivers. The image was shamelessly lifted from a mate at the Tifosiland Lounge, but I'm sure he won't mind

You got the track right underdog, it is indeed Spa. The year is 1952 and the driver is Alberto Ascari (see my sig and you can tell he and his dad are favourites of mine). BTW in 50/51 Farina drove for Alfa

    3 days to go ......

One of my favourite Ferrari's, but who's the driver?

Thanks Underdog and Redarmysoja. It was indeed Ricardo Rodriguez in the Shark-nose Ferrari 156. I really don't know if it's 61 or 62 though.

2 days to go, it's definitely getting exciting ....

A couple of pics to simply enjoy

Hi there ! I really want to share the story that happened to me last spring with you. The story is related to Ferrari.

I work in my country in a place where every important visitor who comes to my country, visits this place. It's the Cricova underground Winery in Moldova. We've got here a beautiful tasting complex and everyone from politics or acting is invited here by our country leaders.

So, this story even now makes me feel sorrow. Jean Todt visited last spring in april our country, so he was as well in the winery I work for. I knew he was about to visit us, but no one told me that he was coming in that day. And because I was disappointed at that time with some of our managers, I didn't talk to them. But I was sure he was visiting us on Friday, not on Thursday. So after my day had finished, I went home.

    ...

Yeah... he came on thursday... crap...

I didn't have a face for like a week after that. Really wanted to shake his hand and to give him to sign for me in a Ferrari book a have since 2001. The book is about the 2000 title year. Quite a big one. ;) Also I've got two original photos of Michael Shumacher. One during a GP, and another at Maranello I think. My uncle worked for a mechanic who worked at Ferrari so that's how I got these two photos. :)

Really wanted to show him these photos to sign on the back of them... but I missed this great chance...

That's how the man who created Ferrari from scratch and made it unbeatable in 2000s comes where you work, but you're not there. The irony of the life. :D

Ferrari drivers hard at work at training camp
By Wire News Sources on February 1, 2012
Over the last few days, Ferrari’s driver line-up have been sweating away at a special fitness camp in the Canary Islands. Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa and Ferrari young drivers Jules Bianchi and Davide Rigon were all in attendance at the camp, which was held on the island of Lanzarote.

As well as working out at the gym, the four drivers tackled a variety of activities including mountain biking, football, tennis and canoeing

Yeah hopefully both pit crews are there no point in having fit drivers if the pit crew are slow & sluggish.
I guess you could call this boot camp in the sun.

OK, that's it, we made it to ONE day to go ....
My previous post was of course our beloved GV at Long Beach in 1978.

I picked today's guy because, tomorrow, we are hoping for inspiration. And my choice for today certainly was an inspiration. He was a winner for Ferrari (including once at Monza). But he was inspirational in living his life after F1. Part of the inspiration he brought others was that he competed in the Dakar Rally and 12 Hour at Sebring. So who and what car, yes, if you can tell us, but also how was he an inspiration in competing in those other/later races.

BTW I love the pic, hope you enjoy it as well....

Clay Regazzoni driving the Ferrari 312T 1976 with a Fiat flat 12 engine.

After F1 he had a crash which left him paralyzed from the waist down.
After this Regazzoni became known for his activities in helping disabled people get equal opportunities in life and society. Despite his disability, Regazzoni was determined to live as full a life as possible and his rehabilitation became an inspirational story. Regazzoni won back his racing license and became one of the first disabled persons to participate in high-level motor sports. Although his injuries made an F1 return impossible, Regazzoni raced with some success in rally raids (e.g. the Dakar Rally) and sportscars (e.g. the 12 Hours of Sebring).

Your description of Clay and his "inspiration" was spot on Racingbradley! And thanks Redarmysoja, it was a B at Nurburgring - you're not gonna name the section of track?

Can't wait to see and be inspired by our new car.

Spot on. I've collected a few great shots from that spot. Can't help but imagine what a mess the Flugplatz would make of a modern F1 car - modern F1 meets X-games
