Well lets give Bruno a chance, and dont forget a lot of people who used to work with is uncle are still working there, and if they werent sure of his driving skills and feedback to the engineers they would not have give him the seat.
So lets just wait and see if he can deliver for williams.

I think his uncle said once, "if you think im fast, just take a look at my little nephew"

Living of his uncle's name is far better than living off some sponsors name ,$$$ money being the reason your in a seat in F1. Ayrton's driving skills are in the boy's genes. Give him a a car and some time to have it come out. Sponsor cash and buying a seat just be a messed up way to be on the track IMO.

First of all, was Ayrton so stupid that he saw something in Bruno that wasn't there? I don't think so. Second, Bruno started very late because his career was interupted by Ayrton's death. Third, Bruno hasn't had a decent F1 drive up till now. His first season he had a dreadful car and last year he stepped in a reasonable car without any testing and still little experience.
This will be his first real test in F1.
So I think we should wait till the end of this year to see what his real potential is.

Joining the team that got his uncle killed, this kid surely got a spine.

But anyway, will look forward to see if he's as good as the hype.

Wish him all the luck in his first full season without hopefully not having to give up the car to other drivers!!
I am sure if you were given a chance to have a drive with a top team what would you say sorry I am not good enough?!
Let him do the season and then judge!!
Ayrton always said you think I am quick wait until you see my Nephew!!
We all deserve a chance in life!!
Nice to see the Senna name in F1 and good for him!!

Yeah, i think he is worthy of a chance, even if williams hasn't been a top team lately, but to me they are still a F1 giant (waiting to be awaken).

there has got to be genes involved here, a normal teen wouldn't just start racing and going forward at 18 years old, most of the drivers we know they start learning since they are 5, bruno did some carting wit ayrton, but never real races, only enough at senna's private farm track for ayrton himself see te potential.

unlike nelsinho he won't be put in an impossible task to drive as good as a fernando alonso. so that alone will make his life easier.

I was looking forward to this day, who knows how the kid's season is gonna be, though i am deeply rooting for felipe to have that superb year and stay at ferrari, if ferrari wants to invest in a way newer blood, if bruno did a fantastic job this season all tings considered, i would love to see another brazilian again at ferrari.

But my hopes is that felipe will return his natural form of 2008, and 2009, and even begining of 2010. if ferrari is giving both drivers equal treatment and respect, would be nice to see a felipe good enough for a challenge.

I want our team to win the WCC more than anything.

Bruno was 8 he weight 35 kilos, Senna weight 65 kilos....in a go cart thats alot...

He has talent no doubt about it, but hes not Ayrton...Maybe if his uncle wasnt killed he would be better because all of he training and races he would have done....

Trust me I would of loved to see Bruno win a wdc ,but I think we will never see it happen...

If it was not for "Senna" last name, Bruno would not be considered for a drive (unless of course he had the backing of a lot of sponsors)

Point being he's (as many pointed) a driver that has won nothing, a midfielder that honestly won't be missed should one day loses his drive and noone gives him a drive.

    RB for me.

But his last name ís Senna , and he has got a drive.
Also his uncle - who is still rated the best by a lot of insiders - thought he was highly talented.
Ayrton's death however interrupted his career for many years.
So when he finally started he had to catch up a lot, maybe even more than normally possible.
He won no titles in lower classes, that's true, but he won races and he was not a midfielder.
And now he is finally where he wanted to be and he deserves this season to prove what he really can do.
Not just because of his name, but also because as a Senna, racing is in his blood.
If it was not, he would not even have started to pursue this goal after so many years and against the wishes of his family.
They support him nowadays only because they love him and realize that this is what he needs in his life.

No, it's not really. Because he has sponsors that in return just give him money cause of that name. So in reality people just live cause of Ayrton's name, and the whole legend (even his death). Not cool, really.

Ayrton's driving skills are in the boy's genes.
Yeah. Is it why he's won absolutely nothing all this time? Those genes have to be dormant, in deep sleep, and need a huge electric shock, I tell ya!
Give him a a car and some time to have it come out.
Perhaps by the time he's 40, he might do something.
Sponsor cash and buying a seat just be a messed up way to be on the track IMO.
    I wholeheartedly agree.
    Also, here :)

It's in the genes, oh yeah baby!

I don't really understand how you can judge his F1 career, and that he is a midfielder before his career. the first team he drove for, well the car was ridiculous hrt, nobody could do anything with it, not even alonso. only last season he had the opportunity to drive a decent car (that wasn't falling apart) and he did good with it, he did some pretty good Q sessions. Just give him sometime, driving a F1 car agaisnt the very best drivers in the world is a hard job, you can't simply throw someone there and they will learn it right away.

I love some interviews from alonso and massa too, talking about how it can be difficult multitasking at 200 mph on a sunny day, imagine doing that in monaco during a rainy race, they said you go mostly on instinct more than anything, you can only see some 5 meters in front of you, when you think about that at the speeds they are going.

The point is, F1 isn't easy even for people like alonso and massa who have been there for sometime now, imagine how hard it is for a newbie.

Hey Polter G , " Don't worry, be Happy" Bruno got his 2012 ride ! Let's sit back and enjoy the races! Folks can talk all they want why he shouldn't get in just on Ayrton's name. Too late! He's in F1. Ferrari wdc, Ferrari wcc. Bruno a few podiums, points as good as can be in a Williams.

Alonso showed signs with an inferior car, hell, even Vettel did the same.

So no, that's no excuse. But we'll be here :)

Vettel crashed into other cars like all hell when in traffic, he even rode around on three wheels once. Inferior driving at it's worst IMO. Now he's an astronaut in a rocket .No inferior car there for sure. He better be winning. Comparing Bruno to Alonso has to be the best compliment you could bestow upon the rookie. HRT, Ferrari, Red Bull in the same breath?
