In recent years points were decided in Quali, but if you haven't noticed, this is recent years.
I am aware of twitter, they said one set of SS left and how to use them the best, saying one set left suggests new to me.

So you are predicting tomorrow will be overtaking galore? I think you will be very disappointed then, we seen last year Alonso in a much faster car still not able to pass a much slower Vettel, so what is different this year, same SS tyres as last year.

Not sure how that is the case. The pole lap wasn't set on an early run.

well i dont know better, but i do enough....if it was anyother track,i wouldnt be too disappointed...

surely quali doesnt carry any points, but i m sure u know how important grid position is in monaco with the narrow track n difficult overtaking.....plus a good grid spot could have made us a bit flexible with the strategy!

I don't know what tomorrow will bring, neither do you. Fernando can easily gain a position or two on the start as usual. That goes for Felipe too. There's no telling how the tyres will degrade. Our pitstops are the fastest of the grid, so we can clearly gain position with the undercut. Fernando starting 5th isn't bad. Felipe is 7th so we're in good position. All of this disappointment is just because people overreacted to free practice.

You can't use the fresh tires, IF there is any.

You have to start the race with whatever tire you set your fastest time with in Q3.

Which will be worse if we are on used tires in Q3, because it will be its 3rd cycle already during the race! Not a good idea.

And neither do Ferrari know, so I would doubt they would give away grid position today. I am not unhappy with where we are, I just don't think we used scrubbed tyres in any sort of strategy for tomorrow as that would be really silly around Monaco and I trust Ferrari would know that

Yeah, not brilliant quali for us but great that both cars made it into Q3. I know it's difficult to overtake round Monaco but if our drivers can stay on the pace we may have a chance of overtaking via pitstops.... that and a little bit of lady luck !

gosh, just cause you know, people can't complain about how Felipe is taking the team to the ground today, now it's Stefano, it's all his fault today.

Let's hope we can have some luck with the strategies tomorrow, so that way we can go back to sacking only Felipe and Stefano and Pat, and not the entire team but Fernando. cause we are now down to sacking entire groups, like Felipe is already a goner, but we have to fire the top directors, we also have to fire those responsable for not bringing in the best design, so there goes our entire engineering team, and also our entire pitwall, don't forget this one, very important, cause you know the strategies sucks always!!

Wish people would just stop with the witch-hunt 24/7/12.

    lol

Yh, Schumacher isn't having the best season in terms of collisions and actually finishing the race so maybe he'll do us a couple of favours too

I think maybe the team sent both drivers out on used SS's instead of the new ones. I think that was the strategy. Some of you act like points are awarded for Quali.
My first thought was the car just didn't work the SS as well as others. But, your post, along with Rocky's call to Seb makes sense. Anyone can see with these tires and the power they give the undercut, means starting behind isn't the problem it used to be. If that's the case I'd make it a great call by Stefano and well spotted Crucial_Xtreme (although I read the same thought elsewhere as well).

Shame for the ridiculous penalty costing him the pole though.

are you serious? at monaco qualifying is crucial. strategy is second here because you cant overtake and undercut only works if you CAN undercut which depends on your opponents. pathetic qualifying, with alonso waiting to come out last into heavy traffic and only getting 1 flying lap.

imo, bad decision to wait till the last 5min, look at last year, when their was a crash in the last 5min of quali i think, then we would have been in the !!! Monaco is simple....put in a banker lap early on, come in, wait, then go out again and push a bit more!!!! atleast our drivers are starting on the clean side, i dont know how much its worth?!?!? The only worrying thing is that we have the big boys at the front who are unlikley to make a mistake :( if where in the top five with both drivers, i shall be very happy!!!

MS took pole at the end, really it made no difference. We had one set of new tyres to use.

    This.

I tell you I am bloody sick of some fair weathers just saying nothing when the team is going great, then come on here and ask for sackings and whatnot.
Constructive criticism and all that, but this just sounds like spoilt children crying.

    Sick and tired.

Both cars in q3 not bad, and sure better could be done, but a mistake was made. Bigger mistakes were made when Ferrari won Championships.

like others, i was slightly disappointed in qualifying, thought we could have had both cars in the top 5.

However, i do agree with Crucial Xtreme - there will be safety cars and pitstop strategy will be crucial.
