Are all the teams a little too cosy?

Having had a quick reconnaissance on other forums, one thing i have noticed is that there is very little in inter-team rivalry. That's not to say every team is not working hard to try and win, but little seems to be going on as in the past.

Its almost as though the teams have grown used to the burden of regulations and cannot be bothered to get passionate over decisions made, its like they have been neutered.
For example, MS got that five place penalty after Spain, no massive hissy fits from the team, no taking it to the highest court, nothing. They bent over took the punishment and MS gets his first Pole in years and is sent back to sixth.
Can you imagine Brawn letting that one go if it was 2004!!!

Other teams get punishments that seems harsh, and everyone just takes it on the chin. What happened? Have they all been paid off to keep quiet? Red Bull have a dodgy hole in the bodywork, no Double Diffuser type rage from other teams, hardly an acknowledgement that fans are talking about it.
Ferrari may have lodged a request for the holes to be looked at!!!! LOOKED AT!!! Luca would have been hungry for blood in the past, now he is not even making a comment.
Something seems a little to synthetic, has Bernie got them all such good deals that they don't care anymore? Has PC finally squashed F1's spirit as it has office workers too afraid to call a Christmas party A CHRISTMAS PARTY.
Nobody wants over the top rants, but are everyone too afraid, to say something like "considering he was a crap racer, I don't know why he is even considered competent to be judging me on a racing incident, THAT WAS NOT MY FAULT"

What happened to free speech and the cut and thrust of the racing world!!!!

'Political correctness' happened. Free speech? Not with the current attitude of the media and the fans alike. F1 fans go berserk with the smallest things, like the shaking of a fist- enough to create threads of epic proportions.

Drivers are 'pussies' and 'whiners', team bosses 'need to be sacked immediately'- so what do you expect? Oversensible forumers are all around, forums being full of whiners and pussies (pot meet kettle), free speech is dead.

Don't recall seeing any penalties called off. It won't be granted anyway if the stewards knew that Brawn probably won't have been calling for it if Schumacher wasn't on pole.

You have misunderstood the point of the thread. I am not talking about action when he got the pole, but the fact they and every other team affected by penalties are just taking it on the chin and not saying a thing when they get them. In the past a team would have organised legal teams as soon as it was given,or at the least said something like it was too severe. No one seems bothered in the slightest if they get penalties, the teams seem neutered. Not even an angry word let alone an appeal.
I know it got tedious on occassion when Ferrari and Mclaren etc used the FIA court of appeal like an on track steward,but they did get decisions overturned. I never thought it would come to this. Have they all been bought off to keep quiet when they get a penalty? Are the rewards so high, it doesn't matter to complain, or is it that they have been put in their place and are to scared to complain. It's a massive shift from just a few years ago when teams take penalties without complaint.

When Charlie Whiting & co screwed up our race in Valencia in 2010 (basically Alonso lost title cos of that) I saw something is really wrong with this sport. At first Alonso was furious, told the truth about FIA and it's decisions, but he got no support from the team and later he had to... apologize. So either no one gives a damn in F1 anymore (unlikely) or this thing called 'political correctness' happened :/

Protesting and complaining hasn't gone away. The teams just don't use the media to voice protests anymore, or at least the media isn't the first port of call. Issues are sorted out behind closed doors without dragging the reputation of the sport through the mud. I'm sure that in the heat of the moment we'll see storms kicked up, or teams using the media as a last resort, if but if in the main they can resolve things like professionals, I think that's great and the sport is all the better for it.

A lot of penalties handed out over the past couple of years have been very unjust and other have gone under the radar for things worth a penalty. It is sad to see teams just going with the flow. The way I see it, there are TOO MANY rules, cut the teams some slack for christ sake.

That's not permanent for sure.
They are busy arguing for the money sharing at the present so they wouldn't like to have many open fronts.
When the "cake will be served" then they'll come back stronger like many roosters in the same yard.
