How can Seb's RB pull a gap of over 3 tenths over the rest of the field when everyone is so bunched up? Something fishy there

The worst scenario we could imagine for the race. Out of Q3 and VET-HAM 1st row. Lots of cars faster than us tomorrow.

Sadly, it aint a track where you will gain much with good pace Can only hope to have a good start, win something with the mediums by staying out long and with some luck of a SC or two.

yup, vettel is quick...by a HUGE margin....Ferrari would be too dumb NOT to get him to drive for us in the near future....
as much as i hate him for the screaming he does...he IS MIGHTY QUICK...

oh, well...Ferrari will have to smarten up and build/improve the car this season b4 is TOO late...

    Frustration I guess.

You mean the redbull is might quick. Easy to look impressive when you have the fastest car and your team mate constantly sabotaged whenever he gets the upper hand on you.

Guess I can take a cushion onto the couch tomorrow, especially since it's Valencia and doesn't look like we'll be seeing red cars up front.

Well, if the Ferrari HAS improved at all this season, it certainly doesnt show here.
I thought we were actually closing in on RB n Mac, n this show that we really arent.
I dont care how many 10ths we're off, this shows where we're currently at.
I really thought we'd be around 3rd row.

N why is Vettel so quick n the other RB not??

We will see. Canada good qualifying rubbish race. Valencia rubbish qualifying good race? So close I think Ferrari have really concentrated on the race. When the race is over tommorrow we will know.

If they were released Alonso on Softs in first part of q2 with others , I think that Alonso would fought for 2nd row definitely . Again our pitwall got great moment .

The only thing worst than not getting into Q3 is failing it when the boss is around.

I'm sorry to say this, but Ferrari just don't have the pace here. I don't care how close the times are, just look at where RB and McLaren is. The trend doesn't change regardless of whether the gap is 0.5 sec or 0.005. The faster car will always be ahead even if its just 0.005.

Q3 result shows that it has got nothing to do with luck. The fact is for some reason, the combination of this track and the temperature today turns out to be the F2012 weak point. Force India, Lotus, and so on were faster than us today. We have to look at why this is happening.

Failed upgrades? Failed tires? Car's performance window too narrow?

I don't understand why they didn't planned a second run with softs in case it was necessary, the car is good enough to be in Q3.

The car has improved 100% since Melbourne, has it not??

Tomorrow is where it counts, Vetts and Hamilton have got get round the first few tight corners together, also got Pastor right there aswell. Not willing bad luck onto them, but you never know and they all may trip up over each other. Vettel isnt going to give lead up easy, and Hamilton, as we know is all out attack all the time.

Fernando and Felipe start good positions really. Saved tyres for race. Both have had (made) flying starts in past. So it isnt all doom and gloom.

Vettel needed just one run in Q3 and look at him. We just didn't have the speed.

Let's face it. F2012 is not a fast car. It's simply not. With all the updates that they are talking about, bringing to every race, it is not enough to be in the same league with RB and McLaren. Ferrari will always chase and try to catch them. But after every race finished they will have less time to do something about winning this years WDC or (I am already thinking it is not possible for Ferrari) CWC.

Likewise. Why do we sometimes go out on the harder tire and then the softer ones in Q2? Haven't really noticed any other team doing it.

my point exactly; ferrari keeps saying we've improved....blah, blah, blah...but when it comes to deliver that one quick lap in quali, we fall flat on our face because our car is NOT fast enough...i know the diff. is VERY small timewise, but still our car lacks speed and we better get on top of it before it's too late...

especially now that our closest rivals vettel and hamilton are on fron row...

On his final flying lap, going into the final turn, you could hear the off throttle, like we had last year.

How many times did everyone prayed for LH and SV to crash at the beginning of the race, and how many times did that actually happed? NON! And it won't! When there was some big accident at the beginning of the race taking first couple of rows in collision?

Oh, I must be on the wrong forum. I thought this was for Ferrari supporters only!

Com'on guys! Championships are won on race day, not in qualifying.

This baffles me too. We sent both drivers out on hard tires in Q2 knowing that will get them no where. Wonder what was the reason.

    @Stefa

at least im not banging on how rubbish the car are!!! at end of day we have always had better race pace. Would you like the car still to be where we were at Melbourne???? The top is only covered by what 2 tenths or so, thats to Hamilton. Thats better than 1 second, no? Stop bashing the car and team and wait till the end of the race. That is where it counts. I would rather have race pace than quali pace.

It is going to be really hard to score points tomorrow. McLaren and Lotus look to be in good position to build on their lead over Ferrari in the WCC points race. It will be really hard to get past Button from rows 6 and 7. Since overtaking is so hard on this track, the gap to the front will get bigger and bigger even if Ferrari start on mediums it will be of little help. If the Scuderia came away with 5 points it will be a good day.
