I'm really excited about Monza, I know it's still far ahead, but now we have alot of downforce on a car that's good on fast corners. i think by the time we land in Monza Ferrari can be just as good as redbull over all, would be perfect if we could get a 1 and 2 there.

Forza Felipe. His best result since Korea 2010.
great drive, shame he was behind the meddling roadblocks that is the Mercedes cars.

Great Webber win, Glad to have Alonso there behind him, I wish Felipe made the 3rd spot and Kimi and Grosjean got Vettel.

I don't care who wins out of Alonso and Webber in the title, as long as its one of them.
You should be careful around here supporting Webber and Reb Bull, mate.

I declared my support for Schumi yesterday and was almost disowned by the gang (TSN).

LDM said that 3 forthcoming races (Silverstone, Hochenheim and Hungaroring) are 3 tough one for Ferrari. First we passed better that majority expected . Now we shall see what is going to happen on remaining two before summer break. Personally I expect to extend, or at least to keep lead in WDC and if it is possible, and FM showed today, that it is, to shrink as much as possible RB lead in CWC.
Yes I know that Formula 1 is not 100m sprint race, and one have to perform good in every race, and todays result is great taking in consideration that FA finished ahead of his main title contenders (SV and LH), somehow I am little disappointed. It is not that I am ungrateful, but... Win was there... It was like we just handed it over to MW. And to put salt on open wound, it was just 4 laps till the end. Damn you Pirelli. How is that stupid? Thousands of hi tech things need to work in perfect correlation (chassis and engine), to driven up to the very edge, to have best possible tactics, and you depend on STUPID RUBBER?!!
I hope in next GP we will see again Ferrari dominance, like in 2010, but without that "Fellipe, Fernando is faster than you!" thing.
And as for Hungaroring, I am really hoping to see Ferrari win there, since last one I have witnessed back in 2004.

    Ciao

Michael was very clean in that move by Felipe.
He did'nt even go for the apex on the right, probably decided it was time to let his young friend go by.

i used to think the same, but the tyres deal with all the horsepower to convert it to speed on the track, to corner at high speed, they have to deal with over and under steer to tame the f1 beast.
they take a lot of punishment every time you hit the brake or throttle and everything in between.

one of the most important components of a car: Rubber.
I used to think they were only black and round.

I fully understand importance of rubber. But back in Good Year, Bridgestone and Micheline days, I think they were consistent and longer lasting than Pirellis.

for sure. and when they show the pitstops that do work, still are a scary position for the pitcrew, being on their knees at the right spot waiting for a car that if all goes right will be a few inches away from your legs and a hard dead stop right then.

I wonder if it takes these guys that got hit today, even if they are injure free, i wonder if they don't feel scared now for the next time koby is coming for them, cause frankly, if a car like an F1 is coming towards you, the human reaction would be to simply run away instead these guys are kneeling down like sitting ducks, good thing that 99% of the time the drivers get it spot on.

    i couldn't agree more.

tyres should be a good factor, but not as predominant factor as it has been this season, where it's all down to tyres strategy, with compounds that are too different, and leaves the car in front with no chance of defending at all. and i'm not saying that cause of what happened to alonso in canada, i think overall, it's the ONLY deciding factor, everything else, like TALENT doesn't mean much this season if you are in a different tyre than your opponent, there's not a dogfight about to happen, the guy just goes right past you with no worries.

to be fair to Kobi he said on the BBC that he had not practised his pitstops in the dry as the rest of the weekend was wet, he locked his brake slightly coming in to stop being surprised at the lack of grip on the pitstop concrete floor.

the concrete has different characteristics to the tarmacadam which caught him out, but fully agree next Kobi stop it will be in the back of the mechanics minds.

I still think the RB is the car to beat, but I wouldve really liked to see both Alonso and Webber at the end on equal tires...
That wouldve given me a better idea on how much we actually are behind RB in terms of development.
My drift there is the Ferrari just didnt appear to like the softs. Too bad they dont last longer than 11 laps.

You can look at the second stint, and I think the pace was similar. I agree, RedBull is a ways ahead, but not the much feared dominance, so we can be happy about that.
The Lotus had good pace, but I feel they are a little overrated by many. mcLaren will be back, so competition is high.
Looking forward to Germany and the updates.

There was nothing wrong with Pirelli's rubber. Two more laps out on Alonso's 1st stint would have made the difference as he would have increased the gap with Webber and Alonso wouldn't have lost valuable time behind Hamilton on his 2nd stint. Plus the last stint on the softs would have been shorter. That's the difference between win and lose these days in Formula One.

Id be the happiest man on earth if Webber moved to another top team so I didn't have to support RBR and could take joy in their misery. Its semi comforting to know that Webber winning pisses Horner off.

Ive also found myself taking great joy in Massa going well, no idea why, I just like the underdog. I always preferred him over Kimi too.

Purely out of curiosity and no offense or anything, but if you're a Webber fan, which is understandable because you're Australian, why hang out at The Scuderia instead of a Mark Webber forum ?

    Interesting perspective.

That and I think there is a fair chance Webber could end up at Ferrari, which would be great. Although probably less chance now he is beating Vettel at Red Bull and the team seem to be actually supporting him.

I do like Alonso and Massa too, Fernando is a boss and Massa deserves something for the 2008 season in which complete ups through no fault of his own cost him the title.
