    Button discards running for Ferrari

«Be’, ehm...

Sorry if I'm translating this incorrectly, but he's basically saying that he won't join Ferrari because Fernando runs the team and would receive preferential treatment, and then says "I feel sorry for Felipe". What an idiot, I can't believe I used to like this guy!

Button would love to be a Ferrari driver but he knows he would get destroyed by Alonso and his career and reputation would go down the toilet. That will stop him living out his dream, shame.

    This is just Crap...!!!!!!!!!
Button is just afraid of ALonso thats all..
First he goes onto mention that Alonso is not a worry...
then he strikes that Alonso is not in the league of Senna,Prost..
Just getting irritated by his words..
He just cant admit the simple fact that ALONSO IS MUCH MUCH BETTER AND FASTER THAN YOU....

Button should know a simple thing that you need to earn your place within the team the very same way Alonso earned his place within Ferrari..

Are we talking for the "Alonso is not a worry" guy? Who cares what he says?

This must be the 4th or 5th time Jenson has been talking about Alonso or Ferrari this season, his "Alonso is not a worry" comment is now legendary. I like Jenson as a person but I wish he would stop making these type of statements!

I'm sure Felipe gives 2 hoots that he has Jenson Button's pity. Whatever.

I'm always careful with such interviews, and especially in the summer breaks, because there's always some spins and twists and misinterpretations and wrong translations involved. But from my butt feeling, i'd say Button is just a bit a bit scared of of the idea of becoming Fernando's team-mate, and rightly so
    In other words:

Button has probably been misquoted slightly on whatever he said, but i also get the feeling that he does not like Fernando. He wants to be in Ferrari but he would dare not go head to head with Fernando. He is being out paced by lewis for the most part and everyone knows that inspite of Fair uncle ron heavily favouring lewis, fernando had managed to almost win the championship that year and tied lewis for points. That is a scary thought. I also heard somewhere that he does not like vettel. lol.. so basically doesnt like anyone with more talent than he has. Which would mean he doesnt like lewis too much either but has to put on the facade of a couple made in heaven so that he doesnt get kicked out like heikki did.

Having said that, button would make the perfect no.2 to Fernando at ferrari.
    Silently, like a shadow

Yet, he had no qualms moving to McLaren, whom everyone "knows" is run by Hamilton's entourage? That's rich!!

    +1

Wasn't Jenson saying a few weeks ago that he was gong to try to destabilise Fernando, mess with his mind,or something? This is presumably just what he's (trying) to do.
    No chance!!
And why he's doing that and how he thinks he personally will benefit from it given his current place in the standings, well.......
This is the same man who shouted "Toma! Toma! Toma!" rather embarassingly when he won a race and sung "We are the champions". From which driver did we first hear that?
Jenson's in a mess IMO, within McLaren and regarding his F1 future. At root he seems a nice guy, but when was that an advantage in F1?

Exactly. They probably didn't even interview him, just a cut-and-paste of a phrase here and a word there to fill some columns of a summer issue that nobody reads anyhow.
    Addio Signor Enzo. Ciao Gilles.
