Maybe Lewis, heard from an insider source, he is still thinking... still considering.

If he moves over to Merc, than MS will have to leave the sport...

The sponsors at Merc are willing to pay for Lewis as well... hear say

There was a mention in The Metro today of rumours that he has signed a 1 year contract extension.

The reality is that Felipe is right, after we were told we'd tried and failed to sign Webber, (assuming that's true, and i'm not convinced Webber would be a better bet anyway) there is no one better right now to replace him...

Kind of seen it coming, ever since the rumor of Vettel pre-2014 agreement and Luca DM's strong indication that he wants Vettel in Ferrari.

As Tobes said, there won't be any major driver shuffling next year, so the only logical move for Ferrari is to extend Massa's contract for another year and see what happens when the next round of driver shuffle comes.

Sponsors may be willing to pay, but don't think it has that much to do with money, don't believe for a moment Lewis wants to develop a car, (much like Senna) he simply wants the fastest car he can get a drive in, the McLaren wasn't great earlier in the season but it's competing at a front running pace now, Mercedes don't have a Championship winning car this year, and it's likely they won't next year either, and chances are McLaren will... Really expecting him to stay put...

I completely agree Best place for Lewis is to stay put at McLaren. I would do the same if I am in his shoes

He wont have a competitive car at Mercedes. At least not for sometime, till they sort things out there.

Hopefully, Lewis doesnt make one of those rash decisions like throwing away his F1 steering wheel. The fine this time will be alot more hefty

Ferrari set to announce Massa for 2013

Ferrari is set to announce that Felipe Massa is staying with the famous Italian team in 2013.

Intense speculation has surrounded the future of the Brazilian, who since 2010 has struggled to shine alongside his highly rated teammate Fernando Alonso.

But in an article by veteran correspondent Roger Benoit, the Swiss newspaper Blick said the 31-year-old is staying put in the wake of his recent form surge.

“It (2013) will be his eighth season in red,” wrote Benoit.

In Singapore last weekend, Alonso publicly backed Massa, deriding the “little names” that had been linked with his place for next season.

“With all the names you hear, if you compare what Felipe has done and what these little names have done …” he said.

“In my opinion we need to have a driver that respects Ferrari, that respects the tradition that here we work for the team, for the red cars,” added Alonso.

I sense if there is any announcements, it will be made prior to Suzuka.

I have a strong feeling that Massa will drive for Ferrari next year. Good on Alonso for backing his team mate.

    Ferrari, what a team!

Felipe will be back in 2013, as he should be after his performances at Monza and Singapore.

Definitely. The cars are dogs and Fernando and Felipe are driving the wheels off of them. No one should ask any more of our drivers.

It Felipe keeps on driving like this, he will be a strong pick for the 2013 drive. Maybe he has his head back and able to perform like in 2008 when he won the Driver Championship!

    Ciao.

Yes, he did win 2008! He was robbed! That was his World Driver's Title that year! The pain of that year still lingers!

Ferrari's are never dogs. Askiing a driver or having a car to do better than 1st place ? Constant DNFs is a sure sign of a team's cars being dogs. The Merc car and there #2 driver are in that catagory, I would also rate Williams car and Pastor there too.

Massa will be staying with us for 2013 so I'm very happy for him and if Alonso can win this championship and do it before the last race I think it would be nice to see Massa win Brazil to set him up nicely for 2013 season. Chow 4 now!

Going back to the race on Sunday I would have so loved to hear the team radio between Rob & Felipe.
Rob's body language & the shake of the head during the Senna/Massa overtake was precious.
