    Looking forward.

    Say, if anyone is there this weekend, could you guys provide us with some updates about the weather. F1 official site predicted rain for all 3 days.

    Here's what I saw on twitter
    @radarguruf1
    #F1 radar update 15:44 SGT:You know that shout for no rain? Scrap it! Large storm over the Singapore Strait, close to the circuit. Moving NW

    @radarguruf1
    #F1 radar update 15:55 SGT: Shower will last for 15-20 minutes approx. Circuit will cop the worst of it - dead centre of the cell.
    Edit:
    Well its raining now
    @radarguruf1
    #F1 Singapore: Radar screen grab just as the shower hit Marina Bay a few minutes ago.

    Rain has stopped in the area around the circuit, not sure if there will be rain again. I'm in northwestern Singapore at the moment and it's still pouring though (circuit is in southern Singapore). However even if rain has stopped it might take a while for the circuit to dry up due to the high humidity here. At least there are support races (GP2 running now if I'm not wrong) to potentially dry up the track a little. It should be a dry FP2 later on in the evening anyway.

    Afternoon downpours in tropical areas tend to be really heavy but short in duration..

    I hope it's dry too, but it'll probably be a bit damp. We could see the water-sucking truck being utilised though?

    GP2 cars were skidding around, painted areas of the tracks seems particularly susceptible. All the lane markings and traffic arrows are painted over.

    Sky Sports don't like Alonso...

    Commentators were talking about the best night driver, they were saying Hamilton or Vettel..

    Ummm... Who's won the Singapore GP twice? Fernando Alonso gawd!

    Dumb question of the day:

    If this is Singapore's "monsoon" season (June to September), why don't the move the race on the calendar?

    It rains all year round in tropical countries so I think its really hard to predict when it will rain. I don't think there's any major predictable dry spell every year.

    just running to our own programmes. Nothing to shout about. FFP1 is not the session to go for low fuel fast runs. All about data collecting etc etc

    Looks like we will have a tough fight in our hands with McLaren and Red Bull up there.

    Its only FP1 but it seems that pole is out of reach again...P3-P6 should be achievable though...

    Might I remind you that Ferrari needs to evaluate new components? They do not care for times right now.

    I still think its too early to talk about laptimes here...especially because Ferrari have to evaluate the large number of upgrades. And while RB and Macca will certainly be strong,there is nothing with the circuit characteristics to suggest that Ferrari will be poor here...we probably wont be able to know anything about trends before FP3...look at Lotus and Mercedes,they were quite low down the order as well inspite of their numerous upgrades. Everyone is obviously focusing on data collection first....
