Singapore GP 2012 - Qualifying Thread

Not too bad then. 8 tenths off from Pole, 4 tenths from P2. I am sure we have possibility for a podium finish.

why not we just sign Hamilton as well to replace Massa? and then dump him when he is past his prime for Vettel.

No they're not. Vettel qualified about where Alonso is at Monza, and McLaren has just now found consistent speed.

We lose a chunk of time in S1. Slowest S1 of the top teams (bar Mercedes who didn't set qualifying times in Q3)

Hopefully Vettel can be taken at the start. Hamilton cannot be allowed to run away.

Quali is always a bitch, tomorrow the pace should be up there.

5th place is better than 4th. Clean racing line at a safe distance from Maldonado. The start is going to be huge for Fernando tomorrow.

Hamilton is just way too ahead...

Why make it to P3 when we only go for 1 qualifying lap. Is pole such a bad place to start the bl--dy race

I hope Pastor goes all out at first corner.
Meanwhile, it either says something or just nothing that Alonso, Schumacher and Raikkonen have reputedly spared a F1 podium on five occasions and Fernando has stood on the top step on every occasion. He's F1's first among equals. (PG)

Noticed that as well, but now we are faster in S3, where we used to lose around 0.5-0.8s in FP 1&2.
Let's hope we can get at least a podium. Hamilton seems untouchable unfortunately. I'm affraid Alonso's 37-pts lead won't last long if we keep showing up every time with dispointing upgrades.

And how much longer before ALO loses his championship lead??? The MP4-27 is well over half a second quicker than the ferrari on an average....so my dear friends, please dont expect any miracles for Suzuka or the remaining circuits. Such a huge gap cannot be clawed back....

i may draw a lotta flak for saying this, but i really pity alonso's state since he has joined this team.....seems such a waste of his talent....he regularly keeps pulling something out of the bag,and the team just keep disappointing him!!!some part of me feels he would have been better off with redbull or mclaren, seeing their developmental talent....

dont get me wrong,I LOVE FERRARI,but i absolutely hate the people running it right now!

Yes, because this track really represents the others left on the schedule.

Don't think Alonso isn't smart enough to know not to go all out here where there is such a good chance to hit a wall. I'd say the car might have a bit more in it, but Alonso is too smart to risk it.

That's really a pathetic attitude. I mean, he is leading the championship after all.

They can expect miracles if they want.

If you are really down on Ferraris chances, then great. But no need to try and make others think the same way.

You guys have to think how Fernando saved a lot of buts in the SF Management, including Domenicalli's. I don't know what's better, to have as a Ferrari driver this hyper-talented and motivated driver saving the jobs of those frozenheads, the driver that is our only hope for a great race, or to have had a much inferior driver that wouldn't bring a lot of points in the bag and have them fired ?!

what I am seeing at the moment, as amateur is ...

we are 8 tenths from pole and struggling,

and 3 out of 5 championship runners are in front of us. Dam it.

Hope Alonso is doing his best ( as always ) and without accidents involving Ferrari cars.

With Hamilton and Maldonado on 1st row, can't wait for the start.... Podium finish for Fernando is quite realistic with our race pace.

Vettel really unhappy, because he needs to regularly beat Hamilton to have a chance for that 3rd title.

same sentiments. it's just like how Mateschitz throws money like Manchester City or Roman Abramovich and he gets his holy grail. Our bosses aren't that trigger-happy, but if they are...
