Interestingly, on both the occasions where Vettel's alternator had failed, he had slowed down just prior to the incident, safety car in Valencia & drive through penalty in Monza

Really need a good race and score some decent points, ideal result, Fernando leaves Singapore with 50 (or more) points lead in WDC, worst case scenario need to leave with more than 25 points, tire degridation and tactics will play a big part today, am genuinely optimistic that Fernando will get a podium, which, when we're in a bit of a damage limitation situation isn't too bad...

GP2 on now, Davide Valsecchi is already Champion which means he can't do GP2 again (champions can't defend title), at the risk of repeating myself, think we should have a good look at him, best GP2 driver since Hamilton, remember being mocked by some here in '07 when I said rookie Hamilton would win races and give 2 time WDC Alonso a run for his money at McLaren... Think Valsecchi is as good...
Can't comptete in GP2 next year and now available, cheap enough and Italian... Perfect...!

    Sorry went bit off topic...

    Good day everyone.

All I want is to see is Alonso finishing on the podium. We're up against our 2 toughest rival and our aim should be to minimize the points lost to them if we are unable to beat them this weekend. Besides, a podium without a Ferrari driver is just boring

I think we can do it, so long as no any kamikaze driver runs into Alonso.

I hope there’s a group hug for all the team before this race. This one’s definitely damage limitation; to finish first you have first to finish and all that.
Good luck, keep out of trouble and who knows? SV, LH and KR can’t afford to be relaxed either.
    Go Ferrari.

Unfortunately I will be missing the race and that makes me tremendously sad! But the last time i missed a race it ended in a Ferrari win so maybe I should make the sacrifice :p
It's imperative that car number 5 gets a good start and makes up 1 position atleast during the initial stages of the grand prix. Beyond that it will be a battle of pit stops and strategies, Ferrari normally excel at this so let's hope those qualities shine through.
Maldonado has had good starts recently and so has Hamilton but I hope the former comes out on top on this occasion. With Maldonado in the lead this GP can become very exciting.
Safety cars and mechanical failures will also play a part but it must be said that this could work in our favour but also go against us and destroy our race. In conclusion if we are to get a good result today the team will have to heavily rely on luck...

It was a minor brush, nothing major. He should be fine.

Apart for win, which is obvious target, FA needs to finish todays race in front of LH and SV, to maintain and increase points lead in WDC.

The physical and mental battering those guys go through at Singapore is enough for them to deal with, let alone having to stand on the podium afterwards trying to understand the inane babble spewing from the gob of that rude, non-sensical, cretinous, attention-seeking little crab.

...aside from that I have no real feelings on the matter.

I think 2nd or 3rd is the best we can achieve today. We may have chance for the win only if Hamilton has a problem. The high heat and humidity will put severe strain on Vettel's engine but the same can be said for everyone. I really doubt we will be able catch Hamilton. His car is faster than ours and as a driver is as fast as Alonso.

With a fast car at the start 3rd or 4th is attainable. From there on with good race pace, being careful on the tyres and decent strategy podium result is possible.

It is becoming increasingly clear that Hamilton is our biggest threat to the WDC.

Hamilton might not be as strong in the race though. he was complaining about balance in his long runs.

But also, apart from 2008 the winner of Singapore has always started from pole.

I wonder if McLaren have set up their car to do better in qualifying than in the race? We shall soon see.
