Lewis Hamilton: "I am a fan of Fernando's"

"I am a fan of Fernando's - I was a fan even before I got into Formula 1 - and I think this year he has driven so well. More so than anyone else.

"For me, in my eyes, he really is a three or four times world champion."
I can't stop thinking about Hamilton's room with a poster of Fernando

FA made an interesing point yesterday about McLaren and Hamilton that the atmosphere in that team will not be great, he knows from 2007 what the management are like when you are leaving the team.

btw, just read this on topgear......"Kimi’s comeback has been impressive. He is still third in the championship which is astonishing considering he’s a) not driving for Red Bull nor b) Fernando Alonso."

A racing driver the calibre of Lewis Hamilton is in a far better position to appreciate the qualities of his rival.
He can frequently see that while they are racing close to each other Alonso can give 101% to his 100%.
More so with a slightly inferior car.
And that is a lot in F1 racing !
Lewis saying that about Alonso means much more than all of us together saying that same thing...

He has to say all good stuff for Ferrari's WDC challenging driver after being booed at Monza. BUT HE DID say that Alonso is the best driver or smting post Brazil 2010

Actually, he is doing less dumb stuff lately and I do think he is a really good race car driver.
He may have made a slight error in his choice of teams for next year, but only he knows
    why he did it.
He does admit it though..Ive never heard Button say anything about any other driver, most drivers
    simply dont.

Well, well, well...where did that come from? First he says that him and Alonso are not enemies, then he says that he has a lot of respect for Alonso, and now he says he's a fan of Alonso.
What's next?! But kudos to Ham for at least admitting that Fernando is one helluva great racing driver.

Maybe its just me but I didn't find Lewis move quite as shocking. Alonso did leave McLaren to go back to the struggling Renault after his disastrous 1 year there.

There comes a point when a driver says enough is enough. The promise of a fast car is hardly worth it if he isn't happy there. Maybe Lewis thinks why not try his luck there, at least the team is prepare to make him happy. If it doesn't work out, he may join a better team in the future, like Alonso did.

Lewis will one day again partner Alonso.. my guess will see.

Note, how Lewis didnt do one of his crash contact moves when Alonso was very close at the start of India GP.

Somewhere in his heart, he wanted Alonso to be in the championship fight.... my silly guess again

Definitely there is more support for Alonso than Vettel it seems

I have a renewed opinion of both Hamilton's and McLaren's fans now

Hopefully not in a Ferrari, but all credit to him for SEEMING to give Fernando the credit he deserves. Just hope he sees fit to assist over the last three races although somehow I doubt it!

One thing for sure, the paddock and most of the drivers think Alonso is a more worthy winner, that by itself is half the championship title won

The pressure is off Lewis at McLaren now he has "handed in his notice". Uncle Ron may not be too impressed, but it doesn't matter if he wins or not now! It's the workers at Brackley I feel for!
