such good news guys....questions, DOES THAT MEAN VEttel can start on any tyres he wants?!?!?!
Also are they allowed to change anything on the car if they start from the pitlane, eg wing angle, to gain a higher top speed?!
And finally how is red bulls top speed?! Much appreciated
Praying for alonso to have a clean race, he sooo deserves it!

It will be really interesting to see what can Vettel do with such a slow car.
If we are fast enough in terms of race pace then with DRS it will be possible to pass Button, Kimi and Webber. As for Maldo, i just pray for tyre issues

the CLEAN side is left side of the grid,no right side.On position 6 Alonso is on the clean side.Watch the video from today`s qualifying and you will see that

Hopefully being in that hot dirty air at full throttle down the straights wouldn't be kind on his engine either!

We are now in a better position than a hour before.
Yet the race hasn't finished but the pendulum has moved a bit into our direction ... keep fingers crossed it keeps that position on Sunday ... If our guys passes the first corner safe I think we can hope for more. Bene, Bene, Molto Bene ...

Is everybody now moving a position forward? So Alonso starts from 6th grid position?

If he starts from pitlane then yes. It is allowed to make changes.

It doesn't change anything about Ferrari lacking this and that, we can't always count on other's mistakes. This is another incredible chance offered to us for taking and we should use it on 100%. In USA we really need to be on par with Bulls, that doesn't change. What changes is, that Ferrari has got little "breathing space", which is always good

It was only when they check the car and found that the fuel is lesser than 1liter that they penalized Vettel. It was like what, 850ml?

In other words, had Red Bull stopped earlier and had that 1 litter of fuel, they would have successfully lied their way out of their cheating.
Yes, there must have been another reason for him stopping on track. As we saw with McLaren earlier this year, not having enough fuel is not "force majuer".

Not true (reacting to the post you reacted on). Driver have to left 1l of fuel AFTER he got to the pits. So when you stop on the track, you have to have this 1l of fuel + the fuel you would need to get back to the pits. So even if he stopped earlier, it would not save him.

I know it doesn't change anything,I just don't like to see guys on this forum giving up just after qualifying and saying it's over!! Cuz the points are only giving tomorrow. I know we need to be on par in USA,my point was only towards guys who thought we are done and dusted a few hours ago,and all of a sudden they are soo optimistic now!,

It's frustration talking. Everybody is handling different situations differently and little bit of tolerance from all sides would not harm anyone.

Right, now this looks better, but Fernando still has to be careful.

Good start is imperative, but luckily Ferrari has great top speed. And since I believe the story about DRS now shedding as much drag as others for us, then it means top speed is inherently good.

Get Kimi and button quickly (they are good racers so it will hopefully be okay). Up next would be Maldonado and can get him at the pitstops and Webber with speed advantage. Up next, Hamilton.

    Valencia part 2

    (Touching wood )

Meanwhile, as this is a **** track to overtake at, and Vettel has the worst top speed I think, it may be tough for him to make his way up but he is a quality driver and I believe he will score points.

After Japan I was sure that there's gonna be one more twist in the plot, and this is it. Formula 1 is amazing with it's twists and turns. It ain't over til the fat lady sings.

Hopefully this will be the last such twist in this season, and nothing like that won't happen to us... *knocking on wood*

Haha Vettel bingo will be good tomorrow, how long until we hear "DOOOO SOOMMMMEETHINGGGG!!!".

Remember there could be a safety car though, any result when Alonso reduces the gap by 5+ points is a good result.

This will Fernando get all fired up!
I bet he has this feeling of when all seems lost and then suddenly you see a chance....
I think he will be a little careful at the start, but once he gets up to speed.....man, we will see the Ferrari fly again tomorrow!

Red Bull statement says Vettel will start from pit lane. Doesn't have to. Oversight? Or are they taking opportunity to change his gearing?

Not sure what you are saying. My point was, they did not penalize Vettel for stopping on track and they did with Hamilton earlier this year. They penalized him for not having enough fuel, which is NOT what Hamilton was punished for.

So if Hamilton was penalized for stopping on track but not for not having the required amount of fuel (which he didn't either, same as Vettel), then RB must have presented a valid reason (force majeure) for Vettel stopping on track, since not having enough fuel is not reason (force majeure)

wouldnt be surprised, as they do it short because it wants pole and helps him. But lets face it, RBR isnt great on the straights. Be of light at the end of the tunnel.

Red Bull looking into fuel cell issue, so Seb's car out of parc ferme and he will start from the pit lane.

oh no, dont think they can. Forgot. They must give the gear ratios to the FIA at end of FFP sessions. So, if he got short ratios he got to stay with them.

RBR believe fuel was in the cell, that's what Renault told them but without moving panels they couldn't tell so took car from Parc Ferme #F1

Even it is worst than start from dead last, I am afraid that RB will do something with the car and than magically we will see SV flying...
