More important is the fact if we're faster than Maccas...If so then Alonso can from P3 or P2 do just anything :)

can't say really if we're better....we don't knw how much fuel they are carrying....but hopefully if this order stays.....yes fernando could be in with a good chance!

Any place on the grid will do good for FA if he can finish ahead of SV.

Hopefully Alonso is heavier than others, or we are lacking a lot even on race pace.

Based on LT Alonso was slower than Hamilton and the Bulls. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I saw there...

Back in the days when refueling was allowed every time Ferrari don't perform well, I used to believe that we are on other tactics (heavier than the rest). On the race day they usually proved me wrong, pitting if not on the same lap as the fast ones, than even earlier...
So for there I don't believe in that anymore...

Does some one have the times from the longruns?
From what i could make from the commentary, McLaren's times where good, closely followed by Ferrari, Red Bull's times on the longruns where somewhat slower.
Dr Ferdinand Porsche:" Nuvolari is the greatest driver of the past, the present, and the future".
Enzo Ferrari once drove with him and recalled even on bends "he never took his foot from the accelerator".

Well 0,7 seconds is much better than 2,2 seconds. I knew it was just a stupid PR trick in FP1. I'd say our pace looks pretty good and I think that we're faster than the Maccas on this track. That's a good thing at least. If Alonso can qualify on 3rd place tomorrow, then anything is possible from there.

I dont think SV was fuelled as much as everyone else, as he didnt have much running, and wanted get top time again That turn entry will be interesting for start of race, from P2 -P4 can get into there before pole sitter.

I think Alonso could have been faster, but he got caught behind kobayashi at the last corner, also button did a similar time to alonso, but hamiltons pace showed a difference of a sec faster than button, which was weird if they both were on the same fuel load!So I think they must have been on different fuel loads..

    Congrats

Congrats guys, I think FA have good chance of wining this GP.
The 0.7 second should not be a problem. If he. Can at P3 then this 0.7 is only related to the difference between the ddrs in RB and the drs in SF .
I thought LH was on good race pace.
Why kimi was running on the hard Tyers????

United States GP - Alonso third and Massa sixth this afternoon in Texas11.16.2012

Austin, 16 November – It was a Red Bull one-two come the end of the second free practice session for the United States Grand Prix, the penultimate round of the Formula 1 World Championship. On the brand new Circuit of the Americas track, on the outskirts of Austin, Sebastian Vettel was fastest in 1.37.718, ahead of Mark Webber (1.38.475.) Third was Fernando Alonso who took his F2012 round in 1.38.483, while, in the other Ferrari, Felipe Massa was sixth in 1.39.09. The Brazilian never got a clean lap on the Medium tyres this afternoon, in a session devoted to comparing the Hard and Medium tyres Pirelli has selected for the Texan track. At the end, both Ferrari men did some practice starts and pit stops. Alonso was the only one of the two to do a long run with a full fuel load.
