I hang my head in Shame, to say I support a team that does this, how can Alonso if he wins the WC say he's the best driver in the world as his team mate has had to ****** (not the first time) for him, Best to lose with grace than to win in shame
(mind the language please.)

Well that's a new strategy, for sure, but understandable, just hope it doesn't backfire at turn 1. Sad for Felipe's chances but maybe they can do something clever with him later. I'm not looking forward to the start, though, as even on the clean side, nothing is guaranteed. On my knees already, just hope it'll be worth it.![]()
Atleast Colajanni found his spine and told the real reason for it. I really hope this doesn't backfire on us, Crashjean and Maldonado are still right behind Fernando.
IF YOU CAN DREAM IT, YOU CAN DO IT - ENZO FERRARI
Agrred.
They can call it cheating all they want, but no different that RB starting Vettel from pitlane in order to make wholesale changes on the car, or Webber ducking into the pits just as Vettel caught him, or both Toro Rosso's waving Vettel past.
Like I said, Ferrari needs to learn to cheat better, this is a good start.
Don't play dumb with me. I'm better at it than you are.
Yep completely agree, if it was any other team they'd just talk about it and move on. With Ferrari/Alonso they overreact completely. And it doesn't even chance much about today, Alonso's just starting 7th rather than 8th.
You would think by the way they cover it Massa has been ordered to take Vettel out... Jeez.
I agree. Among these controversial times which I would rather had not happen, one thing I admire is that Ferrari has always come clean with their team strategy. They never secretly screw the #2 driver. They are honest and they have no problem showing this is how serious they take racing.
Felipe would have been part of it if he'd had better strategies at the start of the season, it's been proved that poor grid positions don't necessarily mean a bad race result and Felipe would have been well up there to assist in WCC. And it's why he's till with us in 2013. Good for him. Best of luck this afternoon boys.
I cant believe Im reading Ferrari fans (?) slamming the team for doing what is a normal F1 thing??!!??
Do some of you understand Formula 1 at all?
Oh, I get it..if it works then u will say it was a genius move, right?
R u guys really RB and Mac fans that just come here to slam the team?
I dont get it really, u slam RB and Mac and say theyre cheating, you say Ferrari has to learn to cheat more, Ive actually read
this here..then when Ferrari do what is considered a normal F1 move, you slam us...amazing.

United States GP - A penalty for Felipe
Austin, 18th November - We’ve decided to accept the penalty normally associated with the gearbox change on Felipe’s car which means that he’ll get a 5 place grid penalty. The reason for this was for strategy considerations, with the objective of maximizing Alonso’s start potential given that he’s still in with a chance to win the Drivers’ championship. We saw yesterday that starting from the dirty side of the track would have been penalizing: there was a significant risk of finding ourselves too far behind the leaders at the end of the first lap. It was a decision agreed by both drivers. We’ve always maintained that the interests of the team come before that of the individual drivers and this has always been our very transparent policy. Felipe has fully comprehended the reasons behind this decision and so he’s once again proven his total dedication to the team - something for which we would publicly like to express our gratitude.
So did they change the gearbox or just break the seal?
Don't play dumb with me. I'm better at it than you are.
It gets better.
Some people were speculating that RBR would do the same thing, to throw Alonso back to the dirty side of the track.

just broke the seal
Ted Kravitz @tedkravitz
Also confirm the gearbox itself was not changed. Only wd've had to break seal. FIA have no power to defer the grid penalty, it's compulsory

It will all be for nothing when Webber has one of his famous bad starts, and backs up the whole odd numbered side of the grid except Vettel.
