If we jumped to a race sim, with the new exhaust then i take it that we got it working as we wanted.

Just got a textmessage from a friend who is in Barcelona, he said Alonso is the only one who doesn't open the DRS on the pit straight.
Dr Ferdinand Porsche:" Nuvolari is the greatest driver of the past, the present, and the future".
Enzo Ferrari once drove with him and recalled even on bends "he never took his foot from the accelerator".

Alonso's long run looks okay so far. Will be interesting to see how it develops.

They need to test the new exhaust to see if lasts and if it gives the performance gains that they're looking for.

But track is slower by about 0.6s if we're comparing Alonso's long runs with that of Grosjean and Webber last weeks according to Benson.

Maybe they are doing race sim? Full tank fuel load, no DRS

Gary Anderson says we are running a new diffusor?

andrewbensonf1 Ferrari upgrades this test so far: exhaust config (on car now), ft wing end plate (off again) new diffuser (on car). New rear wing tomorrow.

andrewbensonf1 I should add that the info on Ferrari upgrades comes from Mr Gary Anderson, who's good at spotting these things

Not good! Long run simulation has been spoiled. It's raining and Alonso has put intermediates on! No wonder his last stop before the tyre change was slow.

WELL ITS BEEN CONFIRMED! NO PARTS FOR US!!
Fernando Alonso tells Sky Sports that Ferrari are "a little bit behind" frontrunners

Team won't trial Melbourne spec until Friday practice at Australia

By Pete Gill. Last Updated: March 1, 2013 3:40pm
    .
Fernando Alonso has admitted to Sky Sports F1 that Ferrari are "behind the top teams" and revealed that, unlike their direct competitors, they will not be trialling their package for the season-opening Australian GP this weekend at Barcelona.

Although a pecking order has been all-but impossible to determine over the last month of winter testing, Alonso's remarks represent the first definitive acknowledgement that Ferrari are not currently on a par with the leading teams - widely believed to be Red Bull and, after a positive step forward at the start of 2013, Lotus.

"I think we are a little bit behind the top teams, which is where we expected to be. In Brazil we were seven or eight tenths behind the Red Bull and McLarens and no one can recover that amount of time in a couple of months," Alonso told Sky Sports F1 on the second day of the third and final test of the winter at Barcelona. "Hopefully we will arrive a little bit closer than that in Melbourne."

However, that ambition has been complicated by the late arrival of the updates the team plan to use for the March 17 curtain raiser at Albert Park.

"The parts for Australia are not coming to this test so we will try them out on the Friday there," revealed Fernando.

By contrast, the likes of Red Bull, McLaren and Lotus are expected to bolt on their Melbourne specifications on to their new cars on the final two days of this week's test, while it's understood that Mercedes started trialling their Australia updates on Friday.

Meanwhile, doubts are emerging about the race-readiness of McLaren's fast but inconsistent MP4-28 following the admission of Jenson Button that the team were struggling to understand their new charger - which is based on a radically-different design philosophy compared to its race-winning predecessor, the MP4-27.

During live coverage from Circuit de Catalunya, Sky Sports F1 pundit Martin Brundle reported: "There is certainly a feeling in the paddock that McLaren don't have a great car at the moment for the long runs and that they aren't up there with the Red Bull", while Sky F1 colleague Mark Hughes described the car as being "fast but plagued by understeer".

No new parts? Today we saw a new exhaust configuration, new front wing and new diffuser, i'm sure Alonso must have noticed them
I saw the interview where Alonso said this, he said it almost tongue in cheek, he was in a very good mood, wicked smile even, trust me, he is more than happy with the car.

Most of the Italian media had to smile about Alonso's words. This is what they thought :"La sensazione è che a Maranello si vogliano nascondere il più possibile, tirando fuori il reale potenziale della nuova monoposto solo quando conterà. ovvero dall’Australia in poi." transl.:" we get the feeling that Maranello wants to hide as much as possible, only showing the real potential of the car when it counts, from Australia onwards". And believe me, the Italian media is normally very hard and critical on Ferrari.

Luca said that he wasn't sure whether they will get enough time to test the new exhaust that it may not arrive early enough. Well, it's arrived a day earlier than expected unless he was talking about another exhaust?

Alonso is not giving anything away.

Massa is pleased with the car.

Ferrari IMO are disguising their speed.

Understand that 120%. Let other teams try Melbourne updates. But my view and the teams by look of it there is no point trying parts for a totally different track like Melbourne around Barcelona. Wouldnt get the numbers you looking for.
