Felipe has to let Nando go right from the start.
Felipe has to let Nando go right from the start.
From what I've seen, the Red Bull and the Mercedes can quickly get heat into their tires, whereas the Ferrari takes a bit more time. Given the nature of this year's tires, I would assume Ferrari will have much less tire degradation than those two - especially in the race.
Having said that, one second deficit in qualy at Albert Park with low temps is okay. From the start of the european season and up to the last race, we'll have warm temperatures. Plus, there's the development race.
We have nothing to worry about. This is just a drag race to the 19th race. We gonna do it.
Don't be naive. If Felipe was such a good driver, Ferrari wouldn't have hired Fernando in place of Kimi. Felipe is fast, but he's not consistent. You can't rely on him, unlike Fernando.
This is not just about getting one good flying lap. This is also about racecraft, motivating the team, doing politics, handling the pressure. Fernando can do all of those, whereas Felipe is only good on the flying lap.
Vettel- pole? Well, told you so. But the race is another thing, some RB engine could blow up, or rain comes into play- you never know![]()
Yea, Fernando wasn't really consistent at the end of 2012 was he... Kimi was not a fit for Ferrari and by the way, the last year Felipe and Kimi fought together, Felipe destroyed him and if I recall correctly, he almost became 2008 champion... that tells you he is not a top racer? He had a long period of tragic showings, but making him n2 when for some time already he looks in better shape than Alonso itself... that screems fanaticism.

Lets end these stupid discussions on FM's performances and team orders...i am pretty sure the latter wont be implemented today, otherwise Ferrari will lose a lot of their hard-won reputation...and let's acknowledge FM's return to form, but equally, lets not forget how poor he was from 2010-12,so hopefully he can keep this up...and LET US LEAVE IT AT THAT!!!!!
I'm not bashing Felipe here. I know he's as fast as anybody, but the boy lacks consistency. He's especially vulnerable when the car has shortcomings like Ferrari has since 2010. As for the Kimi vs Felipe part, well, those cars were top notch which allowed Felipe to stretch his legs.
But good cars don't last, and Ferrari would have been lost without Fernando during these difficult years.
Read it how you want, I mean no disrespect.
What's up with all this Massa bashing?
Yes I agree with observation. Vettel's tyres were in poor shape after Q3. We are close behind, have good starts and probably have lower tyre degradation than them. Victory is within reach. Does anyone know the state of Webber's tyres?
Also, maybe some drivers weren't as pushing as hard as they can to preserve more tyre life?

I'm sure if Alonso is so much better than Felipe he will be able to get past him without Felipe moving over for him.
Don't play dumb with me. I'm better at it than you are.
Well, Ferrari wouldn't want another 2010 or 2012, now would they. Losing the title by that small margin is painful. I was merely thinking that if it's a case of prioritizing resources, bet on Fernando. And judging by the last three years, that would be a sure bet.
That's all. Now let's stop talking about this, it's getting boring.![]()
