For those that understood the pit cycles Vettel was never racing Alonso. Kimi and the Hamilton weren't on his pace either.

I don't the remember last race we dominated like that.

Anybody remember the last time we won a "clean" race in such a dominating fashion?
Silverstone 2011 was quite a dominant win from Alonso. But we all know why that happened.

It just puts in perspective how amazing China really was. I haven't enjoyed a Ferrari victory like that in so long.

We didn't win by 1 second, or because of weather, or because of a safety car, or because of somebody crashing, or breaking down.

It was all pure pace from Fernando.

I love it. It's going to stay on my DVR for a while.

Yeah that one has a * on it because of the off-throttle "ban".

Totally agree with you.. if you think about it, we have had very good races from both the team and Fernando, but when you look at the races, we won because Fernando could defend from the front, are because of good strategy and good racing.. but we actually never had a race in which we were dominant and could permit ourself to make mistakes, which we could have done now.. this was incredible pace.. hope we can win some races this season.. good points, nice feelings..

    Lotus – Rai 2nd, Gro +43 secs "
Merc – Ham 3rd, Ros DNF
RB – Vet 4th, Web DNF
    McLaren – But 5th, Per +28 secs
    Toro – Ric 7th, Ver +30 secs
Force – DIR 8th, Sut DNF
Sauber – Hul 10th, Gut DNF

Do I have a complete wrong perception or is it the car from Lotus where you can see always sparks coming out of the bottom of the car. Especially during breaking into the corners?
Seems that they always touch the street with the floor of the car.

That's right. Most cars don't scrape the floor like that during cornering. Mercedes used to scrape their front wings, while Lotus, I think is the only team that scrape the floor.

I've noticed that on the Lotus as well.

Not enough for them to be DQ'ed though. Must make driving the car that much harder.

First year on the car as sponsors, and a win in their home country!

Hi all, and yes a great dominant victory, shame that Massa's tyres let him down, maybe a setup difference between him and Alonso hence his better performance in free practice on the softs.

Anyway I just wanted to put this out there...is it me or is our team, the oldest, most successful, the most supported , getting the least amount of TV coverage? I have noticed this over the last few years, whether we are performing well or not. MuckLaren seem to get the most then RBR followed by the other top teams. I don't really blame Sky or BBC as they are just getting the official feed of the country, so it must be Bernie's lot.

BTW the Ferrari 458 of Kessel Racing won the opening round of the Blancpain Endurance race at Monza beating 2nd & 3rd placed McLaren's by 18 seconds! A commanding victory. Hopefully I'll be at the next race at Silverstone in June to cheer on the Ferrari's.

Sky's F1 show may aswel be called the mclaren show. Its an absolute joke. Like you said, we are the most successful, most iconic and well supported team. About time they sat up and showed the mighty reds some more respect

I used to think that too, but Sky etc. can only talk about what they know. e.g. Ted's notebook he gives more info on the other teams than Ferrari, because he has more info on the other teams. RBR and McLaren let him into the garages etc. and give him info, while Ferrari do less for British media.

When they have a chance to see Ferrari they will take it, like when Stefano came to BBC yesterday.

Sky was with Stefano and Pat Fry right after the race, a mechanic even came and gave them some champagne.

Yes I agree with you that they have less time with ferrari over race weekends. But when you watch the F1 show or the pre race build up, bbc and sky talk as if mclaren and red bull are the only two teams in f1. They refer to felipe as fernandos lap dog, and when ferrari do something we are cheaters, when mclaren or red bull do something, they quickly pass the subject by and nothing else is said. Bbc and sky need to work on how they talk about ferrari.

The best part of the race was this radio message from the Red Bull pitwall to Vettel,

"Sebastian, don't bother fighting Alonso he is way too fast"

Don't play dumb with me. I'm better at it than you are.

As someone already said couple of posts above, what makes me happy about yesterday win, is that it was on pure pace and speed. It was not result of some accident, somebody else DNF, SC, or whatsoever. This one is pure dominance. This means that F138 is really good car. Can't wait for next GP. Thanks God it is already next week

Is it me or the TV feed missed Alonso crossing the finish line yesterday?

Not sure if anyone was watching the BBC forum after the race yesterday, but to me it was awful. They were dithering around not talking to anyone except random mechanics/other unknown people who happened to walk past. There was no real discussion or analysis, the real low point being them talking about Eddie losing his bag somewhere and making sure he still had it, while he described a present someone had bought him for his nephew or someone. I don't have a problem with a bit of light hearted banter and fun (nobody wants wooden coverage), but this was beyond that and looked clumsy and stupid. You could tell they had no idea what they should talk about. Although he could be biased at least Jake gave direction and flow to the coverage in a way that felt structured. They need to bring that back. Did anyone else see it?

    Indeed,
If you put everything together, we had a good pace in Melbourne, but we didn't win because of more traffic compared to Kimi, in my opinion. Malaysia, Fernando said podium was possible so I believe him, but yeah, we all know how Malaysia went, and now China, dominating.. We have very good race pace, but, are qualy pace is also good compared to previous years.. If you combine better qualy, good starts (like we always do) and good race pace... It's just, de Lotus and RBR are good as well, the Merc is also fast, but struggling a bit more with tyre, and you never know what McLaren is going to do.. I mean last season we were also nowhere in the beginning but look at the end.. We really need to score some good points the next races.. Bahrain could be good, and Spain, Ferando is always good in Spain so...
