Vettel vs Kimi for Pole. Alonso will start somewhere on the second row. My prediction.
Webber will be demoted 3 places, keep that in mind folks.

PI P2 or P3 will do for fernando.
his ferrari can get a rocket launch at the start and does have a mighty race pace.
he doesn't care beaten on saturdays as long as he gets a haul of points especially a win on sundays

#f1 Poss failure of HAM's rear tyre relates to the "change" being talked about with Pirelli. Related to glue betw/ metal and tread block

MERCEDES AMG F1 ‏@MercedesAMGF1 Lewis' gearbox will be changed before qualifying following the incident in P3... Lewis will incur a five-place grid penalty as a result

If Alonso can't get P1, P3 isn't that bad, since this track is very dusty offline.

P3 might easily take P2 at the start.

I think lewis attacked the curbs too hard that caused a suspension failure and the tyre problem is the result of that

If Felipe can manage his tyres well we could see both our drivers on podium

Yes, but it could fail because of that tyre.

Alonso is mighty is S2, the twisty section of the track.
Despite the two DRS zones I still think overtaking is going to be very difficult, Track position will be vital so its important our boys qualify well.

It is absolutely vital that we avoid starting from the dirty side of the track. So if we can't get pole then starting places 3, 5, 7 will have to do.

    from Omnicorse..

Moment of concern for Lewis Hamilton : the British driver in lap of the third free practice session of the Grand Prix of Bahrain has heard a strange behavior in the rear of his Mercedes W04 . It is seen clearly a problem with the left rear tire that looked like the victim of a puncture, as soon as the car stopped in the pits was also evident failure of the suspension!

's photography Effe 1 Tech that testifies to the serious failure: how can note to break was the attack of the upper triangle on the side of the upright . The boom arm is like peeled for the effort which has been subjected to abnormal. Immediately the alarm was triggered in the box the three-pointed star: the mechanics have done so, replace the part with a view to qualifying , but the concern is given by need to find out quickly what was the real reason for the break, so that we can repeat again. And as a precaution, you also replace the changing of the W04 that Lewis will be penalized five grid positions ...

I know but it was the straight after that big curb where Vettel also had a problem.
Pirelli is not to blame, because I know Mercedes will use this accident to make more pressure on Pirelli to change the tyres

According to Sky it was the delamination that lead to the suspension failure, which also resulted in gear box being damage.

It make sense because when the rubber falls off, the wheel impacts the ground which breaks the suspension and the gearbox too. You need that impact to damage the gearbox

So maybe if Lewis would have stopped the car immediately after the accident he wouldnt have had to change the gearbox

I think the impact occurs right after the rubber fall off. Once the rubber is gone, the wheel drops and that single impact was enough to break the suspension, and probably damage the gear box.
