Well that was quite a bit nauseating! Massa is still lagging well behind, too far behind, Alonso again. This is not good. Alonso is having some bad luck this year in a few key moments. He will bounce back! Massa has to pick his game up, AGAIN. Ferrari is slipping behind in the Constructor's race at the moment to both Red Bull and Lotus with Mercedes coming on fast.

Better luck next time, I guess.

    Ciao,

    Forza Ferrari!!!!

A race like this and a 3 week break? This thread gonna go bananas, probably worser than the Malaysian thread.

No one is saying that RB is not building fast and reliable cars, and to be hones SV is not mediocre driver at all!
On the other side Ferrari was way to conservative in building cars. Even with the best driver in the world, he could not do anything better.

what is happening here...i know things break and go wrong .,..
but it feels we dont have reliability this time..
extremely frustrating to see us 30 points behind pettel even with a car on level terms...
and Massa was unfortunate but he is also is not the best in races and is slow...

We need to win in spain now else vettel may have a lead of abt 50+ points in next 2 races. .

Good recovery by Fernando and very bad luck for Felipe.

I'm worried, we had a great car and we are 30 points behind Vettel after 4 races and minus 32 in the WCC, we didn't get the most of the tools we had. 2 hours ago we were talking about a double podium, this is a hard punch in the face, and we have 3 weeks to think about it.

    Forza Ferrari more than ever.

Yes, Massa a disappointment again. And don't forget Macca, they probably will be better in Barcelona. Good fight from Perez today, with soul, like Alonso, Alonso is a god, great driver.
    Go Ferrari, beat them all!

What's with all the 3 weeks break?

I remember we used to have those during summer break. Now it's almost every other race

Good thing is that we will have 3 weeks to rethink everything and to come even stronger. As they say what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger!

Also, looks like RedBull got on top of their tire problems, while we sunk in this category. Funny how for the past few years we had tire heating problems, and now the opposite.

Come on guys it already sounds to me that you'r negative, thats just one bad race and it can happen to them aswell,it was out of Alonso's hands for the mechanical trouble he had today, stay positive guys it's still a long way till the end of the year.

Yep, victory in spain and working updates are vital. We can't keep slipping back more. We need to start turning the season to our favour until there's a time.

Cut Massa some slack, the guy had like 2 punctures. Rosberg started on pole and finished 9th too.

    2. 2 bad races. Out of 4. That's 50% of bad races. That's bad.

still not sure why Alonso made a back to back 2&3 pit stops? are they trying to fix his DRS problem? Without that extra pit stop, we may gain a few positions back

    great recovery from fernando
    That's pure crap.

If nandos DRS was working he'd have won that race easily. DRS is worth 0.5 secs around here. Over 57 laps that's nearly 30 secs. That only leaves him 7 secs to make up which he would have easily lost with being stuck in traffic that DRS would have kept him out of. The DRS problems probably cost him a second a lap over the course of the race. Plus the 2 stops alone to fix the DRS cost him 40 odd seconds. Do the maths before you make a statement like he could only get to 5th.

Things are still looking good for the season.

maybe some TV didnst show alonso extra pitstops after 1st pitsop , because i had it, it switched to commercial break. and it made some of our fans thought that fernando didnt have the pace. he did 4 pitstops.

Lap 8/57 - Alonso pits, swaps to hard tyres and the team close the rear wing.

Lap 9/57 - Alonso's rear wing is stuck open again.

Lap 9/57 - Alonso pits again. Once more the team close the wing and he rejoins the race.

yes, that trafic really hurt him, he can close the gap rapidly to pastor, and the others on 2nd stint. but it took time to overtake them without drs, 3rd stint he could make 1:38 same with vettel, well others 1:40 , thats the key when he could jumped other 4stoppers like jenson and rosberg.

The DRS stuck open, so Alonso pit for the pit crew to manually close it. Ferrari probably thought it was a 1 time problem, so Alonso used the DRS again later on, but the same problem occur, so Alonso had to pit again. After that, the DRS is not used as it's broken.

DRS is only worth while overtaking. We don't know how fast he would have been compared to Vettel, if he were driving on the second / first place.

    A race to forget...

Absolutely disastrous race! Couldn't have seen this coming even in my worst nightmares. Everything that could've gone wrong did go wrong. Alonso again pulled a rabbit out of the hat with his superb driving, "Driver of the race" for sure.
The worst part is that with all the bad luck we're having Red Cow and fingerboy always seem to have the best luck. A 36 point gap between Alonso and Vettel already...that's going to be incredibly difficult to close down. We need at least one Vettel DNF to get back into the title fight.
How can it be that now that we have a fast and very competitive car we're having all these mechanical problems, mistakes and bad luck that we didn't have last year?
The fact of the matter is that WE CAN'T allow for any more mistakes or bad luck and we need to be perfect from here on if we want to have any shot at the title, cause if we keep going like this we'll be out of title contention by the middle of the season. I hate being so negative but that's just the grim reality.
    KEEP CALM AND LOVE FERRARI

not only overtaking.. but also defence... i think Alonso's DRS was broken when Vettel regained P2 on the main straight.. With DRS, Ferrari should be able to get hold of red bulls whose top speed are about 10km/h lower
