    F1 races downloading.

    Ciao ragazzi.

Can any1 help me. Ive been downloading the races in hi def x264 formats, can any1 tell me how i can burn this footage on to a dvd and keep the quality as is? Im finding that the files are automatically compressed when burning and the finished product is really bad.
Your help would be much appreciated as i am really annoyed about this.

    Grazie.

You need to burn this footage onto blu ray. H264 is the codec that is supported by blu ray. This codec is also known as AVCHD. You cannot get this HD format working on DVD. I've never attempted what you tried because as far as I know it won't work.

Or you can connect your computer/laptop via the HDMI output with your tv HDMI input and watch the races in HD quality, so you don't have to burn dvds.
Or buy a program to convert, i have this one http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/ , works great, but to be honest i usually just hook up my laptop via HDMI

HDMI to TV all the way. That way you have your own home cinema, it's awesome and you will never ever need CD's / DVD's / Bluray's / HDDVD's... Just buy the cable

    Thank your for your responses.
The 1st thing i tried to do was burn onto blu ray disc, but this process seemed 2 take a very long time. At my 1st attempt at this i added the files (FP1 and FP2), created the menu, then left it overnite to burn. By the time i woke up in the morning, it still had not started???? Ive tried other blu ray burning software and i get the same thing.
Every year i put my home race (Melbourne) on a 3 dvd set. I understand the concept of hooking up via hdmi, but im old school, i like to also have it on dvd as part of my F1 dvd collection. I have every Australian Grand Prix on dvd, as well as some others.
This is the 1st time i have downloaded the hi def files, and now im havin all this trouble which is really annoying me.

Ive also tried Convertxtodvd, but like i said, it compresses way too much. Ive even tried to use a program called Handbrak which compresses the file without losing the quality, but this still doesnt seem to work. The programs base it on time, if your dvd goes over 2 hours, then it will automatically compress, even though the file size may fit on a dvd. its really annoying
