It's awesome what that guy with the guitar did there, but he should have simulated the 11000 RPM V6 as well since that's how much the Renault can rev. I doubt any of the engines will reach 15K... I hope the Ferrari will shock people, though.![]()

Ferrari worried about fuel-saving formula in 2014
Ferrari has admitted it is worried grands prix could be half-baked in 2014, as the radical new turbo V6 era dawns in formula one.
One potential problem with the sport's revolutionary shakeup, according to Ferrari's engine boss Luca Marmorini, is that reliability early next year could be poor.
He said designers and engineers will be grappling with the 1000 degree temperatures caused by the turbos, which is not "an easy matter to deal with".
On top of that, the new rules limit each driver to just 5 engines for the whole season, down from 8 at present.
"It will be difficult to run the season without issues," said Marmorini, "considering we are talking about four to five thousand kilometres per unit which is almost double what we are doing right now."
Even more of a worry, he added, is the new rule limiting cars to just 100kg of fuel per race, which could force drivers to save fuel whilst battling for position.
"Ferrari feels this could be a danger," said Marmorini.
"We like formula one to consider efficiency, but we don't like formula one to be a sport where you are cruising for 50 per cent of the laps."

@ Stefa,
+1 AGREED!
Fuel saving turbos...1988 all over...Honda will have a field day when they showup.
All Mac has to do is build a good chassis.
From tire saving to fuel saving...doesnt anybody wanna race anymore????
No...Seriously..
F1 is getting boring with all this green economic stuff. It's supposed to be the fastest racing competition in the world, not the slowest greenest parade. Recent changes has done nothing but slow down the cars way more than they are progressing. Someday LMP1 will be faster than Formula Budget if we're not careful.
These engine and gearbox penalty is going to ruin racing too. It adds nothing to racing, it's beyond the driver's control to prevent these stuff from breaking, yet they penalize the driver each time they do. It's ridiculous.
We will get used to the sound. I remember people complaining about the V8's and how they would sound. Or how about when the new narrower rear wings came out? The ratio front wing/rear wing width was totally lost and the cars looked silly. Well, we got used to that too didn't we?
Mark
You are jumping to conclusions way too early man. Those were very different days in the 80's, with very different technology. There's absolutely no reason to think that when Honda returns then Mclaren will start dominating again like they did back then. Judging by Honda's latest excursions in the F1 world, they will have anything but a 'field day'. Besides, they don't have the likes of Senna or Prost anymore. So just stay calm![]()
KEEP CALM AND LOVE FERRARI
Besides, when the turbo's were in F1, we enjoyed seeing drivers handling 1000hp and soon forgot the sound they were making!
On this we are in agreement :)
Don't even get me started on the stepped noses.
Well, getting used to doesn't mean it's better. One of the biggest attraction in F1 is the loud screaming engine sound. The more we drop the rpm and number of cylinder, the less spectacular it is.
I'd still rather bring back V10 if I could. Hell I'll let the team stick in a V12 if they wants to.
Thanks Bernie! You did a good job bringing F1 up to date. Now you're just f***** it up...
Please leave before it's too late..
Trying to be less angry..
CONCERN: WIth Ferrari only having two customer teams, and us, (3 altogether) Surley we are at a big disadvantage with reliability to get miles under the belt...
more concerning is that our head of engines is already talking about the struggle to make the fuel last...not heard this from the other two eg Renault...maybe this is why where not attracting the customer teams, and then he goes onto talk about reliability...please god let us have the best engine!!!!!!
Yeah, I think he was against the 4-cylinder twin turbo idea. Bernie cares most about money, and he realizes that 4-cylinder will kill the sport. The track operators were against it too, so thankfully it was gone.
I think it was Mad Max who brought F1 down this path. He also once suggested the idea of a standard engine for all teams![]()
was also wondering our road car engines are they developed by our f1 engine department...if that's the case I'm slightly more confidenrt haha!
