Wouldn't it be nice if started on the front row ... just once!

Strategy could be OK IF there is a SC in lap 7 and it stays at least 7-8 laps.
Start for the mediums / mediums again / mediums again / brand new softs. Is it should be ?
Disappointing; 2009 to 2016...
We all hope the team has made the right call. Go Ferrari.![]()
"If I was driving for Red Bull [from 2008] probably I would have more championships, but because they were dominating between 2010 and 2014 probably I would never have driven for Ferrari. I am very happy and very proud to drive for Ferrari, all my time there.
IF YOU CAN DREAM IT, YOU CAN DO IT - ENZO FERRARI
I dont see the advantage of this strategy because as soon as the front runners pit, they will be doing faster lap times on fresh mediums, and be catching the Ferrari's, so where is the advantage?
The softs wont last anything, especially with the cars heavy. Any way to make them last longer will be hugely beneficial, which i think was the reasoning for this move. Everyone will have the yellows just for one point of the race and to have a tire, faster 1sec than the other for a bit longer, especially in the end will play in our hands. Also, if there's a SC, most of the time will benefit us.
i think the softs can only last for max of 5 laps. might be a big gamble but pays of very nice if it will succeed. 1st round of pits stop will be very crucial.
Hell would have broken loose
Greig,Ferrari are not successful at the moment for the past 4 seasons, they lost there touch in f1,no surprice there's roumers for LMP something.Well if you know better you should run your own successful F1 team.
No 1st lap incidents, this could be so interesting.

I think softs won't last more than 5-6 laps before starting to degrade, maybe I'm wrong.
First off Massa should of been a good boy and not lapped faster than Alonso. It's race 9. It's team order time. Massa is not in contention for the WDC once again.
Also, @andrewbensonf1: Looks like Ferrari are qualifying on the medium tyre so they can start on it. Interesting. It didn't work for Vettel in China
Forza Ferrari!!
what if the temps are lower tomorrow?
Massimo have pretty much ruled out the first 2 row in yesterday's chat with the fans so I don't think anyone is expecting Ferrari to be on pole. The important thing is to get the soft tires out of the way ASAP and go on to a new set of mediums, which will be the fastest at that point.
My fear for this strategy is the front runners will open up a gap, get on new mediums which at that point will be faster than our then used mediums, and continue to pull ahead. We would still have the soft to get out of the way per the rules.
This strategy would have worked many years ago, but with the Pirelli tires where new set is always significantly faster than the old ones, the technique to leap frog someone is to get on a new tires earlier, rather than later (as we've seen many times now, who pits first have an advantage due to the massive extra performance).
That's what I'm worried about. The moment we pit for new tires, we trashed Vettel so he did not gain anything from starting with the harder one.
So the whining baby gets pole.. 'Wahh wahh, its undrivable, wahhhh!!'
;)
Did anyone else think merc was running off throttle blowing when downshifting? It sounded awfully like it but it could just be the audio...???
I don't think on a heavy car the softs will be that much better and people in front won't be able to open up a gap that easily.
Let's hope this is the correct strategy, most of the time when they try something different it goes wrong.
Golfsmith Lol, 4 seasons..
I guess you weren't a Ferrari fan in the 1980's :D
