At last great lateral thinking from the team. ferarri 1 2 me thinks with nice high track temperatures predicted andots of graining on the softs

Near race end when the others are on faded mediums and the Ferraris on new softs?

Anyone hear Lewis' flying lap - sounded like off throttle blowing - anyone else pick that up or just the audio?!

Interesting move but don't understand the quicker and unnecessary laps at the end. 1:39 and 1:41 was good enough for P7 and P8 and Alonso was in front of Massa (I thought intentionally).

The tactics is on the cloud until after the first 7-10 laps, imho. If they manage to stay in touch with the leading group, the strategy is gonna be genial. They'll hang around RBRs, Hamilton and the Lotuses with the last stint on Softs with a light car and a chance to really push each lap. That's what, around 2 seconds a difference. We'll see. So, those worrying, stay calm. For the situation we're now, this was the best choice to win.

Let's pray for a smooth start at least and a great start at best.

I wonder if lewis will give way to vettel.
I would like to see vettel to be impatient tomorrow and commit an ambitious move that will ruin his race.
    shut the door lewis.!!!

We tried this strategy with Massa in a past race this year, can't remember what it was. I don't think it worked out.

I don't think massa will be told to give.way to Fernando....he'll have to take that place back at the start....also by then the torro rosso and lotuses would have gone!

thought that too ... who knows ... as no one expected how the track will change from FP3 to Q ...
I hope the gamble works. And if Alonso don't throw it all away at the start again we can have a great day ...

Looking the press conference of the top 3 ... once again: priceless to see Vettels face. RBs and he thought the got it theirs before asking the landlord for the bill ...

No need to be sarky, I was making the point that fans whinge no matter what they do when the team are trying everything possible to succeed.

The real thing we have to weigh is would we rather start 4th and 5th on softs or 7th and 8th on mediums. Judging by our Q2 laps we had the pace to outqualify Lotus in Q3.

We topped both Q1 and Q2? Wow! Couldn't we possibly attack the frist row? I guess I'll have to download the quali from somewhere :)

@Golfsmith Ferrari didn't win the WDC for twenty-one years between the 1979 and 2000,but still in the Formula 1.

Ferrari is working and creating strategies to the strengths of their own car and, of course, drivers; we have excellent race pace, can produce good strategies and have great drivers. This is good and demonstrates a degree of confidence that was perhaps a little lacking earlier on?
I thought that this time, with that confidence, we might actually try to challenge for a decent place on the grid in Q3. But no. We take a no doubt canny option and line ourselves up for strategic reasons.
It's just maddening that we don't have, or believe we have, the raw speed for even 2nd row in quali.

Risk is bigger with trying to keep up with Red Bull and Mercedes on soft tyres given Ferrari's issues with the tyres. When outright pace is the problem you run on a schedule different to the opposition.

I don't think we pitted Massa the first time around for a puncture. We were all expecting him to go further in the first stint, but he pitted along with the front runners. Either the tires didn't last, or the advantage the others have on new tires were too big that we had to respond.

My worry is the latter happening tomorrow. If the new sets are much faster once the front runners take on, we'll lose our advantage
