German Grand Prix 2013 - Race thread

    Let's have a good one

Sky is the Lewis show so far, seems his car has a fuel pump problem.

A very good chance to have both cars on the podium today - if we really did pick the correct strategy.

As I mentioined before I shall probably have to start cleaning the bathrooom in about a hour's time, but please , please let 'the strategy' work and no rubbish driving at the first corner

Go! Go! Go! Ferando and Felipe

I guess Alonso will pit on Lap 27 for another set of Medium, Then pit again at Lap 54 for mandatory Soft, with low fuel F138 will be like bullet at the end of the race while others are on Medium he can passed them easily as he did last week in Silverstone

Vettel will pit on lap 6 and 33 for Medium

please no ... he has to cover Vettel ...

weather seems as expected ... very fine ...
"If I was driving for Red Bull [from 2008] probably I would have more championships, but because they were dominating between 2010 and 2014 probably I would never have driven for Ferrari. I am very happy and very proud to drive for Ferrari, all my time there.

    Just a side note:

anyone known this that the relationship between SAUBER & HUL right before break up?

Sky German made interview with HUL during the parade and sky lady Tania Bauer mentioned that rumours are up that he (HUL) has resigned his contract and is ante portas at Lotus ...
HUL hasn't denied it, just said he isn't allowed to talk about contract belongings ... which is almost a sign that there is something going on ...
reason for the split-up: Sauber should be in financial problems (no money to pay the wages for HUL)
"If I was driving for Red Bull [from 2008] probably I would have more championships, but because they were dominating between 2010 and 2014 probably I would never have driven for Ferrari. I am very happy and very proud to drive for Ferrari, all my time there.

Please at least a normal start, no crashes, no wing damage.

If they think staring on the medium is the way to win the race then both on the same strategy is correct.

    Good day everyone.

I hope our strategy works out well, would be great if we can get both drivers on the podium ahead of Vettel, but who knows

Strangely, I hope Lewis is fine too. We need him in front of Vettel, and take the win from Vettel if we cannot do it.

If they had qualified Massa on the softs and he could have qualified on the first or second row and held the others back until Alonso caught up.....

If Massa was on the front row, why use him as a mule for Alonso to catch up?

I guess its a compliment to Massa that you think he needs to help Alonso to catch up though hehe

Track temp is going to be 45º-48ºC so going for 2 stops will be risky.

    1st stint: 18-20 laps
2nd stint: brand new set of softs, 6-7 laps
3rd stint: new mediums, 16-18 laps
Final stint: new mediums, 15 laps

Anyway, hoping for a nice clean race for both Ferraries. FORZA!

I think it would be very motivational for Felipe to have to do this before the halfway point of the season

It was neither a compliment nor a negative comment towards Massa. All I am saying, is that we should have split our strategy...

Ted just said that it's expected to be 2 stop, with 3 possible too. I doubt Ferrari will go for 1 stop to undercut the rest

But we believe starting on medium is the strategy to win the race? so why split it? Merc will be split but only by mistake.

I have my doubts mate and I would love it if I am proven wrong by the end of the race.. If starting on mediums is a sure fire strategy, why haven't none of the other teams in the top 10 opted for it.. I really really pray we have not goofed up...

First stint is so crucial. I hope no first lap incidents for our boys but if SC comes out, it can work in our favor

But that way Ferrari gave up on the opportunity to controll/affect pit stops of others.
