You do realize that the same Pirelli tires are being used by all teams. How can you say the car is good or excellent if it is getting beat being driven by possibly the best driver in the current market and blame the tires.
If the car cannot maximize the tires then its not a good car.

Particularly this year I think apart from the last few races our car has been between good and excellent, with Pirelli being the main concern causing trouble (and not just with our car). If you think that team won't try it's very best each and every weekend and keep claiming that Fernando is this faultless, godlike figure that is severely mistreated - you are in the wrong forum. I think Alonso does have fanforums for his personal worship.

It may be that DC had in mind a statement made by Gary Anderson before the Canadian GP
: “Fernando is a workhorse… A driver leads the team…sometimes you have to over-ride the team a little”.
I thought at the time that was an interesting statement, seeming to imply, to me anyway, that FA should perhaps be a bit more demanding of his team? If not, I’m not entirely certain what he meant by ‘over riding’ the team.

I can’t find evidence of Alonso saying anything that in any way indicated he was thinking of leaving Ferrari.
Since when have drivers not been permitted to voice the occasional frustration with their car and/or the team?

Possibly DC was simply following up on Anderson’s thinking. They do share the same mic on occasions.

According to motorsport-total.com Alonso gave german sports paper "Sport Bild" and interview

one passage will then make this thread mostly obligatory

Summarize: Alonso don't think about leaving F1 and he even don't think about leaving Ferrari.
Central sentence: If I decide to stay longer in F1 then only with Ferrari ...

to close with the famous words of Giovanni Trapattoni "ich habe fertig"
"If I was driving for Red Bull [from 2008] probably I would have more championships, but because they were dominating between 2010 and 2014 probably I would never have driven for Ferrari. I am very happy and very proud to drive for Ferrari, all my time there.

    Fernando isnt going anywhere...

first, there is no validity to this story, second Ferrari wont let him leave as he is all we have, he gets podiums that are nearly impossible to achieve. 3rd- no place to go unless he moves into another facet of racing like Mark is doing... Fernando will race for this team until he retires but I expect Ferrari to bring in new management after this season.
this story is some thing that Coulthard was spewing in the media, nothing more.

People, read that article! It not only makes everything clear, but it also contains a beautiful remark from Alonso about RB....hehe

No one wants fernando to go,but I do feel we need to win titles with alonso now,...high time
But I think a teammate who would push alonso would be preferable.
It's been too one sided and maybe there has been complacency.

    Coulthard... gads!

the article (I read it again) states that Coulthard "senses" Fernando is growing tired of ... whatever.
Fernando states without hesitation that he will stay with the team and if he re-signs he will be with the team again. He says Newey and Vettel are welcome as far as he is concerned... Fernando leaving is the last thing that I would be concerned about; our biggest concern right now is getting pace out of a car that has more potential than most of the others. I have a feeling (I am repeating myself) that the car will be tweaked and will be a lot more competitive after the break. its just some little thing because it has shown itself to be faster than most at times... I think it is just matching the car to the tires (tyres) that keep changing. This past race the had Kevlar sides on them, that may have done something, I don't know, I am no engineer. ... whatever the problem is they will find it, correct it and we will win some races... but Fernando isn't going anywhere.
I like Coulthard but you have to admit, he has always had a way of putting his foot in his mouth. Forza.

Ferrari existed for decades without Fernando Alonso and will continue to do so without him. And they will again win championships whether he is there or not.

I can't imagine Fernando will leave the team before the end of his contract. He really suits at Ferrari and he definitely wants to win championships at Ferrari because winning with Ferrari can't be compared with anything else.

I highly doubt FA's contract would be broken 2/3 years early.
It's a shame he hasn't won any titles yet, the 2010 car was competitive.
If he had driven as well in 2010 as he did in 2012 he would've won the championship quite comfortably in the end. That mistake in 2010 in China, launching before the lights went out was a shocker. Having said that, he should have been given a better car these last few years.

    If already been posted sorry....

REITERATES THAT WANTS TO RETIRE AT FERRARI
Alonso: "If you shoot someone in 2016, will be with Ferrari"
The Spaniard replied to David Coulthard, who reviewers should look for another team to succeed.

Alonso not hear any talk of a future away from the 'Scuderia'y confirms its intention to renew, if they choose to continue in F1 from 2016. "I do not know how much more I will be in Formula 1, but if I renew will be with Ferrari," says

The reasons serve a feeling, besides sporting achievements. "With me and I am satisfied with my performance. When I won my two titles, I felt the recognition of being seriously considered as a good driver. Today, I see as one of the best pilots despite not winning another title since then, "he says in 'Sport Bild' as it has done on previous occasions.

"Every great Ferrari driver should do if given the opportunity." An opinion which adds Marthin Whitmarsh, McLaren team boss, who believes that Vettel is "an awesome pilot, but you never have the recognition it deserves while still driving for Red Bull".

Asked about a future addition of Adrian Newey to Maranello, Alonso does not hesitate: "I want to work with the best, so if I said I do not want to Newey on the computer, I'd be lying."

From the first turn to the finish line, no one can get out of our current car what Alonso is getting. We need him big time!! Massa is giving 100% and just can't compare with Alonso's results.

Hmm...although I have been a fan of him from the Minardi days, I don't think Fernando is a god. He is a worldclass driver, yes, maybe even the best nowadays, but he is just a human being. That means he is not perfect in anything, so even not as a driver.
He makes mistakes, has better days and worse days just like anyone.
I agree with you that he probably is the best that happened to Ferrari in a long time, but we must not forget that he is just a guy who happens to be good in what he does.
One day his career will come to an end, but Ferrari will be there forever - with new heroes behind the wheel.

    I've voted "no".

Fernando is the best driver for any team and Ferrari is the best team for any driver.

By the way, I'm not a fan of any specific team, I just like F1. But reading this forum I wonder if it should be called "a Ferrari fan site" considering the amount of bashing against the drivers, the management, the engineering staff and the team in general which I can read here from time to time.

Alonso said this is the last team switch for him. So, he won't leave Ferrari. If he leaves, then he has nowhere else to go except retirement.

Agree with that. Odd to see it went on for 4 pages. The thread right off started with a statement that can't possibly be taken seriously by anyone, but still continued on and brought only some bashing to the forum.

I know i have no power here since it ain't my forum, but please sometimes think before you open threads like this.
