The clean side is extremely important at this track. Expecting it to be HAM-GRO-ALO after first corner if we don't have big pile up. Decent quali, didn't really expect anything higher than 5th.

    2013 Hungarian GP - Qualifying

Our boys have great starts most of the time but people forget Vettel is also a brilliant starter, he could be P1 before Turn1. Both Alonso & Massa should jump at least one position at the start.

We couldn’t have asked for better from our two drivers. Yet more ‘bad luck’ for Webber helped us to 5th and 7th.
There’s a possibility that we can get one podium perhaps, but the real issue is to be finishing in front of Vettel and that’s another story altogether . Grosjean has the necessary ‘skills’ and conveniently placed to help us on that front………..hmm?

Very true! Vettel indeed could be P1 by turn 1. Problem is the turn being a longer one, cars would ideally like to come onto the clean side before turning, which can play into the hands of Grosjean!

Why is our poor qualifying always talked up....seriously it's about time we started to started to stamp some authority in both qualifying and races ...this mediocrity is getting too repetitive.

Time for Crashjean to do what he does best. He's in the perfect position with Vettel next to him.

I called it some time ago. People will eventually get used to it. Consistent 3rd row qualis is hardly a good result, but in the light of our performance for how long... 5 years, it's beginning to be ok.

Did you guys saw the start of gp2? P1 doesn't get away, P2 takes him, but P3 is so far ahead after first corner... a lot of dust

People forget a lot of things about Vettel. Anyway, I hope our drivers make up some good positions at the start, much to the detriment of Vettel.

If that's the case then we're in trouble. Where did P5 end up after turn 1?!

Ofcourse, the gay in P1 reacted to slow, I wasn't trying to say P1 is a disadvantage, what I was trying to make clear is that at this circuit there is a difference between clean and not clean, there is a lot of dust.. P5 could be better than P4.. Perhaps GRO can pull something off?

4 10's off pole? U kidding? Thats an improvement for sure. Where've we been for 2 years?
    6 to 8 10ths off.
At times there are so many negative remarks here, its a tad hard to read thru the threads.
Some a u guys are real downers.....
I look for a good race from both Ferrari's.
I keep reading that Massa has to up his game??? He has been right around FA's times in many sessions.
I think he's doing as best he can given the current rules/tires.
I would like to see him do better in the races.
Tires are always going to play a role in racing, but it would be great to not have their role be so dominant.
Id rather read about car design revolutions than tire degradation.
    Go Ferrari!!!!

Why dont we just buy out the P5 for nando somehow and just save tyres ,jokes apart,
We almost can get on the podium tomm, but we will as usual need some car failures/crashes to get a win.

Well it's different car, as with everyone else, this year's car should be faster than last year.. Something is wrong if we are still getting the same lap time

    hope we do well

the track will be hot, not sure if that offers us any help... it will all be about getting to turn one from the start and tire and brake management... hate to see Mark have such bad luck during his final year... hope we score well tomorrow!!!!

Seven cars within 0.55 of a second and some here still dare to critisize?
0.14 of a second between Fernando and Felipe and some keep saying Felipe is nowhere?

Ferrari and the boys did a good job.

Win is out of reach unless Grosjean and Vettel have problems. Win should be between Grosjean and Vettel. Grosjean might be a tiny bit faster due to the high temperatures. We saw that he was faster than Vettel in Germany but Vettel had the advantage of track position and also the help of the safety car. If Grosjean can keep a cool head he should win this. 3rd place finish is possible but can Kimi and Webber storm through the field and catch Alonso?

I don't mind if Lewis or Gorsjean wins the race, I hope it's either one of them if not Ferrari. That would help reduce the points Alonso lose to Vettel, IF we can't do anything about Vettel tomorrow.

I was there today watching start from the grand stans. P1 fell a sleap and forgot to start nothing to do with his grid position. Ones starting from 2, 4, 6,.... will have problem taking off the line. Track is very dirty on that side

I love the way that we all suggest what our boys need to do at the start and during the race but we all know that even the best laid plans can come back to haunt us. No, we're still not up there with the best but our quali is better than it looks in grid positions, given the closeness, and we need to improve quali with a more consistent car before we can win from the front. So let's be positive and hope for great starts and a clean first lap, the rest will unfold as it always does, then we'll either be suicidal or ecstatic. Both drivers did what they could today and will do so tomorrow, so no need to make stupid comments about their performance.

You are right. It is not about driver performance. Both of them are doing best they can with given tool to do so. Problem is in car performance!

I wasn't saying P1 is a disadvantage, I was just telling what happend.... my point was, like you, that there really is a disadvantage.. I think Felipe can do good tomorrow, considering his last 2 starts..

As I said, seven cars within 0.55 of a second....you can hardly call that a car performance problem today.

The track is short so the time differences will be also tiny. On a normal track we are still .6 to .8 behind Mercs in quali-speed.
