There's no need for ageism on this forum, we can't all undertsand every new technical innovation that appears on a daily basis, any more than the dialetto napoletano!! Some of us older tifosi remember when Ferrari was still Italian through and through, so we've been through all the peaks and troughs. Just because we're knocking on a bit doesn't make us invisible or incontinent!

Ferrari is the benchmark for every team that ever has been in F1. Every team always wants to beat Ferrari because Ferrari is something they look up against. Ferrari is F1.
They don't hate Ferrari when we win but admire the team and when we loose they are proud to have been able to beat the best there ever was.
But all teams respect Ferrari and love the magic that is around the Prancing Horse.
Tell that to Horner. He must have missed the memo.

We all know that the dominance in F1 is sometimes fleeting and definitely never permanent, but the problem is the respect will wane if Ferrari is not able to be a force to be reckoned with.

Too many great teams, although not the same pedigree, had been sad losses for F1 over the years. Ferrari will financially probably be quite safe in that regard. The fact that they have been part of the championship and have been able to win, by far the most championships, is the reason why they have the allure they have and the bargaining factor that have secured them till now.

If they are to rest on their laurels that very strong base will start to erode and start to crumble and the whole mighty name of Ferrari will tumble down like house of cards if the people that are responsible to keep Ferrari where they should be fail to do that because they think they are too important to be accountable to the people that support them.( the allure of Ferrari Sport cars is their speed, coupled with rich F1 motorsport tradition and the expensiveness that make them to their ultimate buyers worth it, most are not motorsport fanatics and they love the fact that they can afford a car others dream about owning(the fans) )

That is why i say Luca should be careful in his own actions and or the lack their off sometimes, because he is not Ferrari and after him and without him Ferrari will go on. What should worry him is if Ferrari were to be better off with someone else at the helm to make the hard decisions earlier and get the results quicker.

Enzo Ferrari himself said he did not like making sports cars, but that if he wanted to be in F1 he had to finance his racing team by building sports cars. We all knew he also did not believe in aerodynamics and believed the true worth and factor of speed in a car should be the engine. But as the times, needs and regulations change you have to adapt and evolve if you want to win and he wanted to win. If you cannot influence and dictate where F1 is going you sure as hell have to make sure you keep up or you are going to be left behind.

Especially if you have the budget that Ferrari still have.

I think we're the least of any team's worries right now.

On track sadly yes, but the name FERRARI is still something that is considered much more important than Red Bull.
And they all know Ferrari will always come back.
