Felipe considers joining DTM if he won´t get a competitive car at F1

Didn´t know where to put this, so I started a new tread. Just found this news:

Auf der Suche nach einem neuen Arbeitgeber schließt der brasilianische Formel-1-Pilot Felipe Massa auch einen Wechsel in die DTM nicht aus. "Ich will weiter Rennen fahren.
I´m gonna try to translate it (I hope I´ll do a better job than google translate )

While searching for a new employer, Felipe Massa doesn´t exclude a switchover to DTM. "I want to continue racing. It´s what I can do and what I like to do most. I´m very interested in DTM," revealed the leaving Ferrar-driver during an interview with brazilian "Radio Globo" in Singapur. But the first joice would be to get an cockpit at formula1 as an active driver. "I want a good car. I don´t want to stay at F1, just to be there", said Massa.

I don't want Felipe in DTM to be honest! I think it's very fun to watch but in the past F1 drivers going to DTM haven't been a great success in most cases.

Sorry if I got the wrong driver, but I think Massa tested for DTM last year. I assume he enjoyed driving a DTM car.

And I think it will be good for him if indeed he could not secure a competitive seat in F1. There's really no point for him to go to a team like Williams and struggle at the back. He's not going to enjoy it. As long as he's happy racing there, that's all that matters.

Indeed the only I want is to see Felipe being happy where he drives! But to be honest if Felipe doesn't get a competitve seat in an F1 team I would want to see him as a test driver for Ferrari and driving for AF Corse in Le Mans series.

    Another part of this interview:
"Es könnte aber auch Williams, Force India oder Sauber werden", behauptet der Vize-Weltmeister von 2008 und verkündet: "Ich denke, dass ich auf keinen Fall in die USA gehe, um in der IndyCar-Serie mitzufahren."
    Translation:
"It may also be Williams, Force India or Sauber. I think I will in no way go to USA to race at IndyCar-Series." (Seems as if Lotus was not mentioned by him, just by the author of the articles about the interview)

I suppose we need to wait until someone shows up who has heard this interview. I´m not sure how much to trust german media about this.

I did NOT hear the interview itself (I don´t speak any portugese), this is what he said according to German media.

I don't think it was him who tested a DTM car but I might be wrong. He had said before how endurance racing wasn't for him but DTM was a possibility. It's not something I've ever followed but I could start!

When you love racing it is very enjoyable to watch!
    Absolute recommendation!!!
"If I was driving for Red Bull [from 2008] probably I would have more championships, but because they were dominating between 2010 and 2014 probably I would never have driven for Ferrari. I am very happy and very proud to drive for Ferrari, all my time there.

It´s nice to go to a DTM race, because you get a lot closer to all the people, cars, drivers, and so on, than at a formula 1 race. We even have an original DTM tire driven during a free practise session at home Even for Not-DTM followers who are interested in formula 1 it´s a good thing to go there. Another nice thing about DTM is that it´s usually on F1 free weekends, so you have a compensation for no-racing sundays

I really want to go there at any time to Zandvoort but most of the time I have something to do on that day which is the reason I haven't been there ever

Yea I would rather see him racing for AF Corse too. DTM just doesn't seem like Felipe's thing.

I think he would not be bad in DTM, I've watched it and I could imagine him driving Audi or something

Interview with Felipe about the possibility of driving DTM in 2014 -> http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/me...-for-dtm-seat/

I didn't know Felipe doesn't like endurance races so our dream team at AF Corse will be a dream forever I am afraid

I think there is a great possibility Felipe may indeed joint DTM.
Yesterday a German commentato,r Christian Danner (not a very reliable one, but he mentioned having some coffee with Eric Boullier) said it´s almost certain Hulk will get the seat at Lotus. And Felipe didn´t talk about Lotus anymore in the Ratio Globo interview. So I´m afraid he won´t drive for Lotus 2014
If it won´t be Lotus there are not too much options. So he may really end up in DTM.
I´m not sure if I like the thought or not. So far Formula 1 drivers didn´t do so well at DTM, but I see a big chance for Felipe being happy in that series.
As long as he´s happy I don´t care so much about results

If Hulkenberg really goes to Lotus there is a seat at Sauber available for Felipe

Agree, as long as he enjoys racing there, I'll be happy to see him in DTM Maybe a new racing series will give him a new boost of motivation too.

Ferrari might not be competitive comparing to RBR but is the best of the rest. Now try put Felippe to say McLaren or say Sauber or say even Marussia. Yeah.

We have the 3 or 4th best car. In the mix with Lotus and Merc.

We have one driver constantly over driving it and the other with great experience doing not too bad.

Give the car to lesser drivers and we can see half the constructors points, that's for sure.

We suffered a lot when the tyres evolved...

I agree with you on that! The result of Fernando yesterday didn't reflect the real competitiveness of our car.

What the points show is what really matters. We can make hypotheses for ever but truth being told, the car is 2nd to RBR and that means it's competitive to them. That takes nothing away from Nando, far from it.

So you are saying in 2002 when we scored 221 points compared to 2nd place Williams with 92 that they were competitive with us?

On overall competitiveness, we' re behind Merc and Lotus for quali but get better during the race, so we're just about on a par with them when all is considered. Felipe was going like hell towards the end in Singapore, he often seems to lose momentum mid-race when he's pitted and finds himself back in the teen positions. His strategies have left him in this position far too often, and he has trouble regaining his motivation, even with Rob's encouragement. I really hope he gets the Lotus drive, for his sake, otherwise I fear we'll lose him forever.

And What aBout Formula E?, i would love to see all the exF1 pilots going there.. i know right now is nothing, with same chasis for everyone, but it looks like is gonna explode with more motors power unit, first, and car manufactures creating their own chasis and power units.

There are some ex f1 pilots signing to race it.
    Go Ferrari, beat them all!

Haven't heard much about the Formula E here in the Netherlands? I think it will be difficult to interest people for it
