I believe it was Honeywell, based out of New Jersey in the US. I saw that in a technical partner video, some time back. Not 100% sure, but fairly certain.
edit .. everyone beat me to it

You are remembering correctly, we are using a bespoke turbocharger for our needs from Garrett by Honeywell. I don't understand how they can write that our turbo is "too small" yes it is smaller than Merecedes as far as I know, but todays F1 cars are fuel restricted not boost restricted so fitting a huge turbo doesn't mean you get more performance, its more to it than that.

There is a chance of showers in Montreal on Friday. Let's hope that it does not interfere with Ferrari's testing on new mods.

I don't know, if you saw that, but here is the second part of the Ferrari engine video described by Scarbs. This hopefully clearly shows, that the engine comparison posted here (the three side by side images) is wrong. The most obvious difference is, that unlike at that picture, our turbo and MGU-H is mounted really low, even little under the gearbox level. Scarbs actually rate Ferrari engine as the most elegant solution out of the three.

I thought there is also a boost cap for the turbo's.

    FW Comparison

    F1 show biz 2016 :
Toto - "Ferrari are a real threat" .... Nico - "Awesome, everything is just awesome" .....Lulu - "Mental strength man, lifestyle man, I'll drive at 400% as ever man".... and then suddenly a wild Bull out of nowhere slams into a Ferrari.

It seems that RB and Mercedes had more rake than we had. Maybe with that new floor(if there really is one coming) we are lifting the rear too?

Mercedes front suspension is beautiful. The most worked so far.

I agree, it looks very futuristic. Our pull-rod looks very basic. Same with the FW but I think that'd be because we don't have the rear downforce to go bonkers with a 5000-element FW like RBR did in 2013.

For the guys saying we should focus on 2015 - unfortunately it is not that simple. The main difference in the design would obviously be Allison but with no major changes for 2015 in sight it makes little to completely abandon the 2014 design. Yes, it might be fundamentally flawed (I swear, from 2011 to 2014 we have heard that every single season) but if we don't understand why it does not work chances are we will encounter similar problems next year as well.

Has anyone heard a credible story why the chassis (one of the things we cannot change) might be so flawed that it makes it not worthwhile to work on the 2014 car? I mean, a lot of things could be changed on the car - FW, nose, sidepod design, engine cover and so on.

The push rod set up on both Merc and RBR, but the Merc is particularly clean, allows them to blend the camera mounts in with the suspension members for cleaner air flow. Ferrari's pull rod set up is a jumble of crossed suspension members messing with the air flow.

And yet we see Ferrari doing well in front limited circuits this season.....

Doesn't sound like Allison has any plans to quit on this season, sounds like the upgrades to the car for Canada & beyond are a reality now, to be implemented at the track that they're designed for.

The French manufacturer is set to introduce mechanical updates to its engines in Canada, and head of trackside operations Remi Taffin is hopeful these will also improve performance by allowing the Renault-engined teams to do more running...............mechanical updates ?????

They can modify parts of an engine for reliability reasons of course.

Exactly! The airflow over the front wing and nose are good. But behind the front suspension the flow is disturbed making it more difficult to get good clean flow to the rear of the car. That causes the aero forces at the rear to be less efficient, hence the car performs better at front limited circuits.

Ferrari Technical Director James Allison told members of the media in Monaco, “On the engine side, the only changes that you are allowed to make to hardware are for reliability so there is no opportunity for performance there. There is [however] a lot of opportunity to get more horsepower out of the same hardware as you increase your confidence in how hard you can push it.”

I guarantee you that most of the "reliability changes" Merc, Ferrari and Renault make would bring performance as well.

I imagine most other teams have updates that don't work as well as expected too.

Of course, because they would allow the engine to be run more aggressively.

The RB nose looks the most F1 of the 3. Maintaining that F1 look while within the rules.
Very interesting how large the mouths are on the Merc/RB compared to the Ferrari.
Does anyone know just what kind of updates Ferrari are bringing?

If these pictures of our car are so freely moving about the internet, there possibly cant be much importance to this. Am guessing the upgrade is elsewhere. Maybe something not so obvious. Engine definitely. Wonder what else.

There is no such thing as "B-Spec" cars, as its way to expensive for the teams. "B-Spec" is more what the media/press use when teams say there be alot of updates coming to the car.
