More the half a season passed and i still not fan of quiet mumbling of new turbo engines.

Strange view considering you wish to slag the team for not making the fastest car since 2008?

That was the year he won his first WDC with Ferrari in a nail-biter that went down to the wire in Suzuka. Hakinnen would probably have won that race if it wasn't for the intermittent rain.... what a race!

(PS I know the track in the video isn't for Suzuka)

These days Ferrari renewed its test stands with new models who support VTT (Virtual Test Track). Mercedes upgraded theirs 3 years ago....

So, apparently not too much new on the car development (other than a large dose of Merc envy).

F14 t will serve like test car so we can have live feedback with new parts that could be a base for 2015 season. It is always better to test where you have real conditions than computer simulation

Ferrari has shifted its focus to next year's car and is bringing 2015 components to the F14 T at races in order to "track test" new ideas.

Ferrari has suffered a disappointing year after Mercedes stole a march on the rest of the field. At the Italian Grand Prix the team slipped to fourth in the constructors' championship and with six races to go development is now angled more towards 2015.

"At this stage of the season, the focus in the factory is shifting more towards next year's car," engineering director Pat Fry said. "However, there is still quite a lot we can learn from track testing, therefore we will be bringing some specific test components for next year and other developments for the F14 T, which will help our understanding for next year."

After Ferrari's weaknesses were exposed at the high-speed Monza, Formula One arrives at a very different circuit this weekend in Singapore.

"After the two races in Spa and Monza, run on low downforce circuits, we now go to Singapore which is at completely the other end of the spectrum," explains Fry. "It's a street circuit requiring very high downforce, where we will be running the soft and supersoft tyres on a track with similar characteristics to Monaco. There are hardly any high speed corners and only two turns that have combined lateral and longitudinal acceleration and therefore the challenge is more about straight line acceleration and good traction.

"Monza was a tough weekend for us, so now we are regrouping and we will keep pushing forward, concentrating on getting the best out of the package we've got. Even though it's a night race, the temperatures are still very high, in the high 20s or low 30s, which puts heavy demands on the cooling systems for the engine and the ERS. In addition, the start-stop nature of the layout puts a high loading on the brake systems, with the front brakes in particular taking a real pounding."

Nah. think we will be fine. in the top 3 in FP1,2,3 and in the top 5 in Quali. Our car has improved since monaco and before Spa and Monza, we were showing fairly decent pace. No comparison to the mercs, but with the rest we were locking horns.
I think with a bit of luck we can get a podium.

Problem IMHO may be that testing the 2015 parts may be waste of time and effort if the 2015 car differs fundamentally from this one. But they may learn some vital information in the process, though.

NOT if the 2015 car will be totally different...from what James Allison was saying, he wants to change a lotta stuff for the next single seater...i wouldn't be surprised he'll DITCH the front PULL ROD for the 2015 along with other genius stuff coming from HIM

i have faith in JA in regards to AERO stuff....let's hope that the engine people are working jsut as hard at getting more power from out power unit

Agree. But another question is can F14T serve as a valid test mule as a base for 2015 car? I would not like to use something BAD as a foundation of something new from what I expect much more!

We need to improve our PU. That is our biggest weakness. We got rid of our engine chief who must have had considerable input into the 2015 PU project with a new chief. I am not hearing anything positive on this front from Ferrari whereas both Mercedes and Renault are bullish about next year. So I fear others will improve more than us next year. I hope to be proven wrong but the sentiment is far from positive for Ferrari at the moment. Ferrari is still very much a question mark and it could swing either way for us. Doubtful that we'll be fighting for the championship next year. Maybe in 2016 provided we make tremendous progress in 2015. It all really boils down to how much we improve our 2015 PU by.

maybe it is just to get a better (and more realistic) indication which way and direction to go ...
and not about to say that the parts we are testing right now are 1:1 comparable of what we will use next year ...
also we can see how simulations at home with the new parts match with results in reality ...

personally I like the idea ... better than doing nothing

all in all, if it was as fast as the Merc is this year, i don't think too many people would have minded the color of the car...LOL

Not best build a "B" car version with pushrod suspensions, for test the parts of next year car?

But by itself the F14T is not a so bad car. It is not the best car of course but one of the best. The PU is bad, really bad and the comparison between Monza and Singapore shows it

And to make things worse Mercedes have advised all their teams to make the necessary changes to host an even more powerful engine next year. The rumour is that the engine is going to have an extra 40-50 bhp
