I see 6 edge slots as before, but da shape in which the slots are arranged is definitely different. There is curvature to it. There may also be end plate edge slat that was removed after the Bahrain tests. But its again shaped to meet the sharper end and is not entirely vertical like it was before.
Have to say it, bit surprised by the reappearance of monkey seat but at least it has better A.R. than the previous iteration.

Perhaps with the engine improvements from China, plus additional changes here, Ferrari is less concerned with top speed, so the monkey seat is getting another try.

Maybe, but it aint aiding the diffuser... its AoA and the bracket around the exhaust all sujjest its there as a RW modifier. The main plane appears same as was in China imo maybe a bit shallower.

The rear wing is completely different indeed. The slots start much lower and they are shorter, they have a different form and they connect differently with the higher endplates, the main plain is shallower in the middle and straighter in the angles, the drs control system is completely different and the main plain is much more aggressive thats probably why they are using the monkey seat under the wing to prevent delamination. And i believe that they are comparing the full blown nut with the closed one still blowing.

Did we change the engine cover size or something (raise the bulkhead, new seat, etc...)? Why are they measuring the gap from the roll hoop to the top of the car in front of the driver? I know it's mandatory to make sure the driver's heads are safe in case the car rolls over, but if they haven't made any changes in this area... why would they measure now?

    Massa:

"Last year, I don't remember one race where we brought some new parts and they worked, and we had a lot of new parts," said Massa when asked by AUTOSPORT whether his confidence in the Williams team's ability to deliver effective upgrades is greater than what he felt at Ferrari.

"Most of the races we had new parts and they never worked and we always removed them on Friday evening."

Hopefully we are out of that mess for good now...

It indicates that car is safe to touch. No danger of electric shock from those ERS gimmicks..

Thank God Kimi fit under that template or they would have had to try to get a shorter driver!

But seriously...lots of aero mods. I think the most telling thing is that the monkey seat is back. That must mean that there is more front down force or they would be putting the car out of balance.

If that's indeed the case it's a great news.

Hopefully it also means that we have made gains in the engine department which enables us to run more drag-unfriendly setup (the monkey seat).

Oh dear, trying to talk up being sacked by the greatest team in F1 history (after being given 2 season too many) to go to a failing midfield team as if it's a real positive. Good luck with that one Felipe.

Probably confirmation of measurement after assembly.

On another note, did that other set of photos show 2 different rear wings? One wing with one pylon (in line with the DRS lever) and one with two?

Still doing better than Kimi, even after Kobaycrashi took him out in Melbourne. Not bad for a "fired" driver in a "failing midfield team."

So Kimi will be trying the RW with new pillar & monkey seat, Fernando will have older solution. Strong feeling, both will be using new parts in the race

Hopefully they can do their back to back comparisons in FP1 to allow time for FA to bolt on the same updates and ensure he gets himself a good setup with it.

BTW. Daniel will likely podium this weekend with Alonso fighting Vettel for 4th. This track will really suit RB unless our updates bring us a few tenths more than RB's updates for this round.

Massa is just merely stating the truth whether you like it or not. We went backwards with our updates in Silverstone last year.

Alonso have said the same thing. We had to bring back the old parts after our new updates made things worse.

Haven't seen it myself, but I read somewhere that Alonso will be running some experimental exhaust which the FIA aims at increasing the sound (lol, what will they think of next). Merc have confirm they will be trying out such exhaust too.
