If you could introduce a rule into F1.

If you had the option to introduce any rule, whatever it is! (Sensible though) post it, i'm interested to see what your own rules would be!

For me, I thought this was cool! We should have like a "Joker card" every driver gets just one, to use whatever race they wanted, to get double points at the chosen race, so Alonso could use his in Spain, and say Vettel could use his in Abu Dhabi, etc.

    Let me know yours! :D

This is easy...uncomplicated the engine rules. A very simple rule like, "Engines shall run on 100 octane gasoline and have a displacement of 2.5 liters normally aspirated or 1.5 liters turbocharged." To reduce costs, the use of certain very expensive materials like beryllium could be prohibited. Other than that let the manufacturers have at it. Best design wins!

I have already had that idea using a Joker at the race of your choice on the thread already running. Great minds think alike.

And uncomplicate the tyre/aero/DRS rules so that teams are not governed by what the FIA think will improve the show. In fact, get back to racing.

I'd simply bring back the uncomplicated rules that were in F1 before the 2004/2005 seasons, together with the old points scoring system (10-6-4-3-2-1) and the free for all one hour qualifying session, without the 3 part shootouts that we have now. V10 or V12 engines back on the cars. Oh and I'd really like to see the DRS gimmick to be completely gone and I also want the tracks to be back the way they used to be, with grass and unforgiving sand-traps around the track, none of those easy "mickey mouse" asphalted run-off areas. That is all for now I think.

Bring back ground effect, and shift more than 95% of the downforce back to being generated by the floor, this should solve the overtaking issues IMO, where current cars have trouble following another car closely. :xmaswink:

Spa hosts 2 races per season.
Meanwhile, it either says something or just nothing that Alonso, Schumacher and Raikkonen have reputedly spared a F1 podium on five occasions and Fernando has stood on the top step on every occasion. He's F1's first among equals. (PG)

I actuyally quite like the new points though, I think going down to 10 is great, unless maybe reducing the amount, but keeping it at 10 places

My rule would be that no more classic tracks get chucked off the calendar and any that attract a crowd of less than a specified number get dumped... (unless it's Turkey - which can come back).

Get shot of DRS, make overtaking meaningful and exciting.

So what if it takes few laps to make the move, but thats the thrill of it, the build up.

    Okay
    1. One bottle of champagne and three glass for each of podium finishers to save costs.
    2. No Marble on the grid because they are dangerous.
    3. No KERS or ERS or ...RS
    4. Only one stop is allowed to save costs of tyre using. Tyres will be suitable to push hard like hell for half of the race.
    5. Suffecient Fuel to push hard.
    6. Enforcing more restriction to save costs. Apparently something is going to happen http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/111798 and i doubt it.
    7. Increasing track testing.
    8. Giving more opportunity to young drivers to test.
    9. To be continued ...

    1. Allow engine development
    2. Remove the limit on number of engines used per year
    3. Each driver gets a chance to slap Vettel. Only one per season, so choose wisely.

Unless they win, then it is an extra one free

Ground effect and tyres that could last a whole GP sound great.

This. Pick your tires before the race and change them as many times as you need to. And refueling.

I would suggest that rule 1 should be :-

    NO MORE RULES

After reverting back to rules as at 2000.

I am losing patience with the FIA and losing interest in F1 every time they keep making rules to "Increase the excitement "
Its all in the name - FERRARI

At one race (maybe before summer break) each driver must race using the "complement car" of theirs. For instance, if Alonso is 1st and the grid has 20 cars, he would have to race using the car in 20th position (eg: an HRT), the second place driver would drive the 19th placed car, etc...

I don't think that F1 needs any more rules. F1 needs more freedom.
