Well, the Renault-powered cars have problems, while Ferrari's engine customers are Marussia and Sauber. Merc's, on the other hand, are big-budget (ish) teams like McLaren, Force India, and Williams.

Just compare the Ferrari to the Mercedes and ignore the rest.

Hamilton's Mercedes whistles down the pitlane. Lewis says he has been preparing for 2014 in a slightly unusual way:

"It has probably been the shortest winter I have ever had out of the car. I spent Christmas and New Year training in the mountains and I even put a turbo on my snowmobile, so that I could get used to the feel of a vehicle delivering power in that way, which was pretty awesome."

Do you think it's easy to "increase the capacity" and still have a competitive car, I don't think so.

Reading autosport coverage it seems Alonso comes out and never comes back in...
Meanwhile, it either says something or just nothing that Alonso, Schumacher and Raikkonen have reputedly spared a F1 podium on five occasions and Fernando has stood on the top step on every occasion. He's F1's first among equals. (PG)

No, not yet. But, from the photo's at least, there aren't big chunks missing when they return to the pits this year. Little sign of marbling either. Again, the circuit was strewn with them last year.

Sometimes you can't beat the unintended play-on-words. They often carry karma.

13:51 Alonso takes the Ferrari back out. So far, the F14 T is the only car able to get close to the performance of the Mercedes-powered machines.
Really encouraging that the teams are at a stage where folks are beginning to care about times, but this is tragic.
Guys, please don't get worried about times yet. I heard they are running at almost 10,000 revs for gods sake.

    However the cars sound amazing.

In the first sesion of winter test not speed is the target. We need a good and solid car in first place.

And it's another red flag as the Toro Rosso grinds to a halt.

We seem to be doing ok considering we don't even have our final front wing.

Unless we got rid of allot of slats in it. But I dont think thats our final front wing.

So Merc can be fast on a single lap? No real surprises there, I think we all remember that Merc was very fast in quali trim last year as well, but in a race...not so much. I wouldn't pay much attention to these times at the moment, let the Mercs make their PR runs all day long, I just hope that our guys won't be lured into these fastest lap mindgames and concentrates 100% on our own testing program.
    KEEP CALM AND LOVE FERRARI

    Jolly good show lads!

Horner and Newey are back to Milton...

Also the FIA are looking at the front noses off the RB and Merc team, seems they might not be legit???
Something about their designs are to thin and that the crashzone moves to much backwards.
