Sensors mate. We se them in every test.. I think they also help check the calibration to the wind tunnel

If I'm not mistaken, it's a pitot tube to measure air speed. It's placed high up to avoid the turbulent wake generated by the car

that's why the car got stopped ... after only a short distance it was clear: 100% correlation issue again between wind tunnel and reality ...
"If I was driving for Red Bull [from 2008] probably I would have more championships, but because they were dominating between 2010 and 2014 probably I would never have driven for Ferrari. I am very happy and very proud to drive for Ferrari, all my time there.

Gary Anderson says it's normal for the first day with new regulations, Engines, Systems, Wires, Fluids takes time to understand & get them working simultaneously

Thank you both, first time watching pre-season testing (or testing at all) and that tube looked ridiculously big to be a sensor :D But you made it quite clear.
I'm sure Ferrari will get everything working this week, but sad if Kimi's testing days are mainly used eating ice-cream.

10:29 Take two for Raikkonen and Ferrari - the Finn is back out in the F14 T, almost two hours after his first, failed attempt.

Christian Horner said that RBR only began its FIA crash test programme 10 days ago - a lot later than most rivals

I think some drivers like to try different colors in testing. I recall even Alonso used all Red in 2010 testing I guess
