Bit of a rush job at end dur to lost time in the morning. Cut race run short to do this quali sim bet wanted to do race run in the morning. Did quali run on the back of a 48 lap run so hardly optimum condition for the car with all the heat built up over race run. If this testing regime is copied tommorrow with no issues then we should see race sim a gap to cool things down and a more representative quali run.
Look at Williams in the 35's at best for 2 tests then pull a low 33. We will see.
I just wonder if Kimi is able to get the best out of this car... Tomorrow will tell I think.
I guess both were on SS
Need to wait a few hours and see what Kimi has to say. Might manage to read something out of it.
Not a worry, because we don't know nothing about how much fuel was and tyre supersoft usage.![]()
It s only a test...why are you saying that we are in bad form ,keep faith in the scuderia.
Any news about the topspeed?
If we are 2,2sec down in quali sim then the situation gets from bad to worse
We will see after Q3 were we are and if we are behind mercedes ok ...if we are the Third or the fifth best team we will lose fernando at the end of the year.If fernando said that we are there or thereabout , i believe in him more than the time that we saw in preseason test.
Fernando will bring the light tomorrow, I'm not worried.
Was it a quali sim as set fastest time near end on same tyres after a few laps? It was not an outlap flying lap in lap then into the garage for more fuel? There was likely some more fuel in and as mentioned earlier this was straight off the back of a 48 lap run. Maybe a harder push at the end to stress components to the max after near full race sim?
Let's not forget Alonso did a 1 35.6 yesterday and correct me if I'm wrong didn't use SS tyres. Alonso said we will be fighting with the best. If Alonso knew his fastest lap was the maximum from the car he would not have said we will be fighting with the best teams as he knows Rosbergs set a lap time 2 seconds faster the previous week. Alonso has always been a realist.
KEEP CALM AND LOVE FERRARI
totally agree with you on this one; ferrari are playing mind games people, they dont' want to show their hand just yet
i think they want to surprise everyone with their speed and blitz everyone with their form come QUALI in Australia...
have faith in our team, Forza FERRARI!!!
Forza Ferrari SEMPRE!!!
I do hope Alonso can bridge whatever gap there is between Ferrari and the Merc powered cars. Alonso did say we need to find more pace, so I think the team to a certain extend knows we're not the fastest at the moment.
Do I believe we're 2 sec behind? Of course not. But I don't think we'll emerge as the fastest car in terms of pace.
Of course, race is always a different thing.
Just out of interest, what is the fastest time the F14 T has done during the last 7 days?
If we are sandbagging are we really sandbagging by 2 secs or more compared to Williams and Mercedes assuming they aren't sandbagging? The comparison between Marussia and Ferrari suggests that we are sandbagging but I'm not convinced that we are sandbagging to the extent that we are hiding 2-3 secs or more. I really hope we are sandbagging BIG time!
The big question for me is whether or not Ferrari have been able to get full power out of the electrical systems. If the car is running with reduced power available form the ERS, there is hope that the output can be increased. If we had top speed figures we might be able to make an educated guess as to whether the Ferrari is down on power compared to the Merc engined cars.
That the Monkey Seat reappeared today makes me think that there was more power available and that the Monkey Seat was needed to balance the down force front to rear.
Let's hope that Ferrari can dial up another 50 hp and give Merc, Macca and Williams a real run for their money.
Lets be optimistic.
Come 16th March 7 & 14 will royally kick some Merc butt !
“His performances were astonishing! Even the Ferrari engineers don’t fully understand how he managed to get some of the podiums he did.”
